You've energized this thread with your handwritten note and with the close-up images which follow.

Thank you so much for preparing the note and photos to share here.

Montblanc fountain pens of such exceptional quality deserve to be used and to be seen.

It's a great pleasure to see fountain pen photographs of such beautiful pens.

May they provide you with much writing enjoyment in the years to come.

Incredible! Very very nice pictures.

That's what I thought when I saw TripleOne's gorgeous images.

The close-up of the Gaius Maecenas 888 cap snow star is impressive.

We're fortunate to see such well-photographed high quality Montblanc fountain pens.

Technical challenges... past time MB grabbed a bunch of us who are heavy users and let us set them a USE challenge and PERFORMANCE challenges. Tom is a good start, as is anyone who can afford bespoke nibs. Someday I’m going to save up enough...

Although I had several chances to buy the Marquise de Pompadour, your photos helped me made the final decision. I got the pen sealed, it also happens to be F, and now I prepare to ink with the iroshizuku ina-ho.

The Marquise de Pompadour never grew on me, but a lovely/unique pen nonetheless.

I am not a big fan of GT pens.

I have a fondness for cobalt blue, whether glass or ink.

Which cobalt blue ink would you suggest? Diamine Presidential Blue comes to mind or I could be way off.

Montblanc Summit 2

Tom, this is a great image. I plan to look at these watches soon. Are you thinking about buying a Summit 2?

I couldn’t agree more.

Montblanc fountain pens are continuously described as being ‘writing instruments’ by Hamburg staff for a sound reason.

As lovely as they may be as to look at, their function is their raison d’être.

Excellent writers are admired despite any scratches, flaws or age marks...rather like older authors.

It's very gratifying to know this.

Thank you for taking time to tell me.

Your fountain pen collection, as shown in images here, is delightful.

Wonderful!

Thank you so much for the tasteful image above.

Your 2001 Patron of Art Marquise de Pompadour F nib is sure to be a cherished writer.

I'm so pleased to know that it will be inked with Iroshizuku Ina-ho ink.

The golden hue of the “rice ear” ink fits will with the Marquise de Pompadour pen.

May your pen afford you much happiness while writing!

The PoA Marquise de Pompadour is a lovely pen to use, the mass providing a comfortable sensation in the fingertips.

What is a “GT pen”?

Possibly “gold trim”? Something else?

As to cobalt blue, the more the merrier.

It's the visual bass note in my daily life.

~ Toll:

It's far too early to consider a purchase.

When those who've acquired and used Summit2 timepieces share their experience, it might increase my interest.

At this point, I'm in the design admiration/information gathering stage.

It's encouraging to see Montblanc expanding their technological capabilities.
