Lycoris radiata

Two beauties I'd much rather look at than pig ink.

I'm a year of the boar baby and this ink color is a huge disappointment to me.

~ Ghost Plane:

Lycoris radiata appears in September each year, with blooms typically lasting 2 or 3 days.

I'd wanted to capture their beauty with a nib, but missed them in past years.

Looking out my window, I spotted them below, so hobbled down the stairwell, camera and pen in hand.

As to the Year of the Pig ink, its far in advance announcement raised my eyebrow.

I might be wrong, but I thought the pig is usually displayed as golden

~ Uncial:

You've educated me.

I wasn't aware of that.

That being the case, the Montblanc Year of the Pig ink color makes sense.

Thank you for telling this.

Welcome back, Tom. You've been missed!

~ Shannon:

Thank you so much!

During the 11 days of rest, the only Montblanc fountain pen in regular use was the “Les Splendeurs de Paris” M nib Classique, inked in Diamine Safari.

It's light and small, ideal for use marking documents when propped up with pillows on a sofa.

The “Les Splendeurs de Paris” pen is a “no muss, no fuss” workhorse pen, which I especially appreciate.

On the afternoon when I withdrew to my quarters to recuperate, I was photographing butterflies outside of my classroom.

I'm glad that I did, as now the weather here has shifted, with few butterflies to be seen.

While I don't expect to ever see it, I'd love to see a butterfly engraved on a Montblanc nib.

Papilio polytes on a Zinnia

This is just such an amazing picture Tom Kellie. The soft colors and focus variation / depth of field came out wonderfully. It should be in a book

I love the details on the eyes, wings and leg joints. Things my eyes could never see without help.

Wonderful photography!

The Guggenheim is one of the pens I did not pay attention to until recently. The design seems to grow on me.

I wish it would have been made from sterling silver though...

Cheers

So sad.... Just as I was falling in love with my first, my only, EF I notice this chip near the nib. It doesn't seem to make a difference in the functionality, though....

Thank you very much!

The dark subject contrasts with the lighter surrounding colors.

Nature's beauty on display, free of charge.

Loveliness is all around, if one pauses to look.

Butterflies may not qualify for Montblanc nib decoration, but they're soothing to the the eyes.

It's Summer's final day here. In warm sunshine, large butterflies have visited orange-red pomegranate blossoms.

The Montblanc Cultural Arts Patronage Foundation annual dinner in Venice was an elegant event.

The 2016 PoA Peggy Guggenheim has appealed to me as I greatly enjoy visiting Venice and I'm fond of dogs.

Recent images posted in the FPN Montblanc Forum have increased my interest.
