They're priceless in multiple senses.

I have no idea of their cost in most cases.

There's no thought whatsoever of any of them as investments, let alone of eventually selling them.

They're my cherished sketch tools and writing implements.

I treasure them and count myself blessed to have such a varied assortment.

May the collection grow with quality acquisitions.

As for the latest pic, it is a sterling pic of a sterling pen with a sterling backdrop. ;)

@ Michael R.

Love the extremes, EF to OBBB.

I too tend to buy EF's and B's (any variant).

Yubi and a Gift Power Charger

~ For eight days I was flat on my back every day. During the recovery period the sofa was my home, ideal for reading, resting and recuperation.

As I wasn't ambulatory, save for brief periods dealing with living necessities, and reading e-mail and the FPN Montblanc Forum, almost no writing occurred.

The only pen in use was the 90th Anniversary 149 Bespoke EEF inked in Montblanc 2018 Year of the Dog Red Chine ink. It recorded notes about the books I read.

Yubi at 7½ months showed his therapeutic skills, lavishing affection on me, with unexpected special attention to my temporarily non-functional left foot.

He watched me write, making no effort to take the pen as he's not prone to snatching or chewing household objects. Like me, he slept a lot.

Today it was possible to walk around the apartment again. A friend had sent the gift of a power charger which Yubi looked at but nothing more.

I'm glad that the nib is pleasing.

The yellow gold 149 itself is comfortable in the hand.

The blue box is for the Montblanc Homer Greek Blue ink in the pen.

Taken together, they bring substantial pleasure to any writing task.

Dazzling!

The image brightens my computer screen and brings a wide smile to my face.

Thank you for posting such a superb nib dual portrait.

I love the photo, as well as the nibs shown.

I hope that others might eventually follow your example.

There are so many treasures which deserve high quality pen portraits as you've kindly posted.

That's indeed a beautiful pen!

Thank you for posting it with a handwriting sample.

I like the ink color and shading, as shown.

Such a high quality fountain pen deserves praise and publicity.

I'm so glad that you've done just that. Seeing one of your special pens is a treat!

Thank you for your kind words which make me blush a little ;-)

Glad you can view the flickr images since you could not see anything posted to blogger. I'm switching completely for the moment...

...two vintage ones; OB and/or OBB as well but much more narrow compared to their modern counterparts.

And just for fun a few 149 feeds from different eras.

The images are from Flickr?

They display very clearly here without any interference.

The portrait of seven feeds is remarkable! I've never seen anything like it.

Thank you for posting that. It's an inspiration.

The upper side of nibs is the default presentation, yet the feeds have intrinsic interest of their own.

Your pens are maintained in such superb condition.

The clear ink windows, the clean threads, the uncluttered nib faces.

Very, very nice. It definitely sets an example for possible future images.

Thank you for your kind wishes. After lying immobile for over one week, basic walking around the apartment today was a joy.

Little Yubi the Pekingese puppy was self-evidently delighted to see me up and around again.

Returning to the writing desk brought special happiness.

Alas! Please see all the colors for gold (by montblanc) [NOTE: post is about colors of the nibs, not about materials]

-Yellow gold nib from Virginia Woolf, Writers ed from 2006

-White Gold nib from Gaius Maecenas, patron of arts 2011 (rhodium coated, likely)

-Rose gold nib from the 90th edition Meisterstuck

-And lastly: Champagne gold from Homage to Homer, writers ed 2018
