I'm A Sad, Pathetic Stationery Junkie.

Amazon Turkey has same weird logic of sending in several boxes as well ( probably they have an estimation for cost of bringing them together vs shipping from different warehouses or sections ) and it was even more weird as Amazon prime here was around $0.4 per month ( recently increased to an unbelieveable $1.3/month :) ) promising free next day shipping.

Recently it has been practically quite hard or pointless to order from abroad due to 20% straight tax levied (if under €150 value, if more forget it at all) and 5 items per month limit. Therefore nowadays more into stuff domestically available.

And two of them arrived today 🎉

First one is Victoria's Journal Copelle Gold ( A5 - 260 dotted pages - 55gsm Japanese paper , no more detail about paper itself )

And second one is local brand's Karatis notebook , it's 19x26 and has Tomoe River 52 gsm ( not sure old or new , never used before ) and best part is it was sold as 144 pages in description so was a financially bleh choice in comparison to A4 sheets, it turned out that it's 144 sheets therefore 288 pages 🎉 and now they have 25% sale , it's around $11.5 , I'm tempted to order more while can but it's already gotten out of control. 😕

Ordered two more because it was the most illogical thing to do atm. 🎉

Hello there o/ ,

Just wondered if anyone has experience with Nava notebooks? I searched the forum but results are from previous decade, although rather highly praised, still would appreciate some feedback. I searched for the brand but seems MIA, apparently a missing container floating in Mediterrenian of their products hit here as Amazon TR and some local sellers have enticing prices.

Google search leads to a catalog from 2014 but in some products they see no point in specifying rather unimportant details such as number of sheets or paper type, so not sure.

A new brand of notebook arrived today. I’ve looked at Dingbats before, and finally decided to try the reporter style that opens from the bottom.  It does mostly lay flat. It has a nice pocket in the back, an elastic pen loop, and elastic closure.  The insert in the pocket indicates the paper is fountain pen friendly. It has 192 pages, 100gsm paper. I chose lined. This style only comes in two colors. This dark green with a deer, and a gray with an elephant. I chose the deer since they are here in the US. I’ve seen a deer in the yard, a female.

The pen in the loop arrived today too. It’s a Pilot Prera Iro-Ai in green. I think they make a good pair. I see Christmas in a lot of things. In this case, the deer is kinda Christmasy.

Nava My Black Book has arrived. It has 192 pages and paper is quite thick ( only one source mentioned it as 150 gsm ) I didn't find writing with fountain pen that pleasant (Preppy performed wellish though) but still it's a great notebook for mere $4.6

In the tradition of Steven Wright, American comedian*, I pose the following question:

Is it possible to copyright a blank book?

*BTW, one of my favorite quotes from Steven Wright is:

The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese!

“Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today, because if you do it today and like it, you can do again tomorrow!”

I guess it depends on level of blankness ( ok I'm aware it's bordering on famous cat comment but I didn't want to cut them genuinely blank )

I like this combo! What a dear notebook 😄 it’s really pretty, and vegan which I know is important to you. I love top bound notebooks,I find them very easy to use.

@Penguincollector Ha! Dear notebook! I’m not sure what I’ll use it for. I’m only two pages or three into a notebook designated as a commonplace notebook. The Dingbats has better paper. If I were to start over with a commonplace notebook, I wonder if I should use document ink, or some other permanent ink. I have a sample of a De Atramentis document ink.

Do you practice handwriting? You could switch your old notebook into practice paper and use the new one for a commonplace notebook.

Since everyone is posting notebooks, I'll add that I've received an Oxford Campus lined notebook... from my past self. I just found it at the bottom of my desk drawer. I bought it for school but no longer need to write anything for school, and it's the type with very dark lines so no good for journaling or writing samples. I have no clue what to do with it.

If a sad pathetic stationery junkie in Australia happened to be ordering from Amazon US and could add some small thing or two to the order what would be suggested? Asking for a friend.

Will work for pens...

Thank you @essayfaire  the notebook appreciates positive comments.

You can remind it with a sticky note, but that would mess with the aesthetic. ;)

I looked to see if a specific Area 51 notebook was in Amazon’s listing. Not the one I had in mind, but there were at least 8.  Lamy converters can be bought at decent prices in multipacks. Dingbats notebooks get into the $16 to over $20 USD prices.  Is there a price range the “friend” has in mind for the small thing or two?

I’ve bought from the website of the store on Amazon I’m supplying a link for. They have, among many things, passport sized notebooks.

Makes me think of an insurance commercial running where a mother and grown daughter are talking. The mother adds a paper note to the top of her phone. My notebook could have the sticky note on the inside of the cover.

Not really, I will already be spending enough to qualify for free shipping and thinking US Amazon will have stationery that our smaller Amazon doesn't have. It seems an opportunity too good to ignore. Even if I have already been a bit too indulgent lately.

Sticky notes come in so many colours and designs, there is a chance of one which would look lovely. And so lovely that you would want to put it inside the book to protect it.

A whole new part of the rabbit warren: sticky notes!
