I'm looking for a notebook cover to hold one or more A5 Rhodia or similar notebooks (the kind with the thin cardboard cover). I guess it would be a similar system to the Traveller's (haven't ever actually seen one), but not leather. Canvas or fake leather or fabric would be fine. A problem will be finding something that I can get in Australia without crazy cost.

I want an excuse to buy a bunch of A5 cahier-style notebooks.

Maybe I have to make one...

Will work for pens...

Have you looked at the Lihit Lab A5 cover?  I got it, and it’s sturdy, with pockets.

Take a look at Bible covers as they are much less expensive than most other options.

I have one of these and a second one that fits the fountain-pen friendly composition books that they sell at Target and Staples. I bought them because I wanted something stiff enough to support soft-cover books when I’m not at a desk. They are great 👍

Grabbed a new Clairefontaine Neo Deco (A5) in the shell pattern today out of my stash.  The one I am using is a couple of pages from being full. I started it on December 1 of last year. Will probably start a new one by the weekend.

Huge treat. I got to go to Daiso cos Mother's Day. And look!!! A ceramic toothbrush thingy that will perfectly prevent a sample vial falling over while in use. OK, so the hollow goes right through, but I can fix that with sticky felt and some epoxy or something. I tried all the sizes of sample vials I have and they all fit.

Family are now convinced I'm either easy to please or a complete nut. Does it matter?

You might want to consider accepting both as a "nom de plume".

In addition, imo, there is nothing wrong with being crazy. Sanity, as some would label it, is way over-rated.

As long as you are not destructive or harmful to others (plants, humans, animals or the planet) crazy ain't so bad.

Just my opinion of course...

ANOTHER pencil. A Kaweco 3.2mm clutch pencil in Soft Mandarin. How many pencils is too many? I still have way less pencils than pens and It looked so pretty in the picture and it said LAST ONE, so I had to. 🧡

As Gloucesterman said "Sanity, as some would label it, is way over-rated." I'll go with that.

I got three A5 notebooks, and some pocket size in a Cult Pens order. The A5 include my first Rhodiarama in soft cover Iris. I got the new color of Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks in mint green and fox red with matching pen loops. I also got three Clairefontaine Europa minor pads that are spiral bound. I didn’t post about these right away. I have a Spring start Hobonichi Weeks coming too. I’ve been on a bit of a spending spree that needs to stop.

My other rabbit hole is customizable multi pens. When I had 12, I thought I’d stop. Then I got another, so a baker’s dozen as a stopping place. But I didn’t stop there. So I cannot answer that question, except to say it must be a finite number.

Purchased on Amazon - 320 pages. Not used yet so no idea how it will react to fountain pens/dip nibs

The Amazon book looks like a 400 pager(?) I used to get at B&N for $10.00. It was decent w/ FPs, especially EF/F/M. Not so much with the broader nibs. I only went up to 1.1 and a Pendleton BLS (stub).

Please let us know your FP use results.

BTW, what did it cost?

Woah, now that's a notebook! And a step should one need to reach the top shelf...

Looking forward to hearing how it does with fountain pens.

I used a dip pen nib and then a Home ground Jinhao Italic which is very wet, then a Toms Studio Spark Flexi pen, also wet and lastly a Manuscript Italic nib fountain pen.

Indentations can be seen but no feathering and no bleed through so all seems good to go!IMG_1875.thumb.jpg.7f5e4e55b43ca7bf83ef925a1493b2c7.jpg

This looks like an interesting find @Stompie, thank you.  I know you just got it, but any sense for how the covers and binding will hold up?  720 pages is 3x-4x what is in my typical journal, which means it would need to withstand 3-4x the amount of use and abuse.

It's listed on the US Amazon site, too, at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VGBYHQ1/, and looks like it comes in A5(ish) and B6(ish).

I got an order delivered today. In the box were a RayMay Clam Case which is getting harder to find, MD cream paper in A5 size loose sheets, and some MD sticky notes in white, Kraft, and tracing paper with some see through to what it’s stuck onto.

I got a yellow RayMay clam case earlier this year from Jet Pens, and really like it. It’s now gone from Jet Pens, but I found it elsewhere in purple. I’m pondering getting the last color they have in blue, which is on the tag in the photo.
