Another notebook came to join my others.  I got a circuit board ruler because I saw it on Reddit, and liked it. It will be paired with the Berry Leuchtturm notebook with dotted paper. The other items are zippered inserts for Travelers Notebooks.

Well, I did use refunded credit to buy it. I’m actually planning on using the Berry notebook. Hopefully my plan will become action.

I may have spotted a discount on a Rhodia goalbook in a fetching raspberry shade on Amazon. I may have also included a yellow Rhodia softback notebook, just to keep it company en route. I may already have a pile of dotted journals. My excuse is some of them have disappointing paper (Ottergami and the previously decent Rettacy). I've realised (the hard way) that I should just pony up for the good stuff.

@midnightblues I did look at Rhodia notebooks before buying the Leuchtturm in Berry. For Rhodia, I like so many of the colors that I have a hard time choosing. Please let me know what you like and dislike in the Rhodia notebook.

I have a anthricite gray A5 Leuchtturm notebook I bought almost three YEARS ago that is still in its factory wrapper. The one I am working on has about 35 pages left. I am tempted to just open the damn thing.

I get excited enough to move on to the next notebook that I always have a few blank page left when declaring the current notebook "done".  That has been handy, too, when I want some blank space to try out a particular pen/ink combo on the old paper.

Maybe I will see what I can use up in the next two weeks and start the new one around March 1st. I have a new vintage pen coming (my birthday is next month) and the pen takes up most of the allotted budget, but I have some money for ink/paper. The color of the pen would go nicely with the gray notebook. Now to figure out what ink to use. It is a sac/lever fill pen.

Ok this Goalbook is a winner. It has 3 ribbon bookmarks in matching raspberry and orange, index pages, a perpetual calendar and 224 numbered pages (sides). The usual searing orange liner and pocket at the back (rather clashes with the Raspberry!) and the paper is, as you would expect, excellent. It's the Clairefontaine 90gsm which feels a little silkier than the standard 80gsm, and shows very good shading and some sheen as well (in Souten and R.O. Tranquility inks) I don't have any shimmers inked this week but it should handle them fine. No ghost apart from where I put the ink on straight out of the converter, swiped across the page, and even then it's tolerable - and I HATE ghosting with a passion. No bleed or feather.

The cover is a pleasant faux leather, with [ g o a l b o o k ] debossed at the bottom and the usual Rhodia logo debossed in the middle. I like it a lot, it has a nice feel and is good and solid. Lays flat pretty well too, it appears to have sewn signatures.

I have never had much success with Leuchtturm, the last one, some years ago, I binned as the paper was awful. I think I'm just incredibly picky! The only thing I dislike with the Rhodia is the price, and the fact I've got a stack of average books to use up instead of this...

I have two more to come, well CP had them on clearance - a Stamford mock croc and a Semikolon. They'll have to be exceptional to beat this Goalbook though for my purposes.

If I understand correctly, the Goalbook is  like a planner.  Is that right?

In the regular line, I like Lilac, Iris, Sapphire, Anis, Beige, Chocolate, Poppy….

It only has a calendar in the front, then the rest is just plain dot grid. I generally think of planners as having more, organised? pages like a Hobonichi.

I'd call it more of a notebook, or dotted journal seems to be the common term.

I spent some time this morning counting pages per signature and signatures per notebook, did some mental mathematics and determined that I will run out of my current notebook supply in 2029 if my writing output stays the same🙃

Sounds like you may want to start looking for new notebooks. 2029 really isn't that far away AND the prices will definitely/probably be much higher.

It's not as if the paper will turn bad if you buy it now!

@amberleadavis, I didn't know that when it came to pen tasks you would try to "have people for that!" ;)

I wish.

I took my notebook that had about that many pages left and had people write notes in it like a year book at the CA pens show.  I can now open my new notebook.

I have a very nice one on the way, and I think I need to get some more of those Rhodia Dot Pads in A5 size - @A Smug Dillhas gotten me hooked on them.
