Yes, and it was all gluten-free, so I could actually eat it!  The peppermint-flavored marzipan holly berries were a bit odd, however. Everything else was fabulous.

Before killed many businesses, there was an excellent Gluten free bakery ten miles distant.  We got the greatest Buche de Noel from them.  I'm not on for cakes and sweet, but I miss that special treat a Christmas now.

Thanks to looking at the Field Notes group on Reddit called Field Nuts, I ordered a subscription. I had taken a year off from subscribing, and only bought one edition from 2022. This really makes me a pathetic junkie. I have more than enough pocket notebooks. But that subscriber exclusive Berry cover was the best of the four colors in my opinion. So what do I do?  Subscribe of course. I added a National Parks edition I didn’t have as well. Pathetic.

I used to subscribe to the "Evil Supply Company" which included notebooks with covers like "Co-worker blood types for Vampires: Not a Menu". I miss them, since they went out of business.  I loved their ghosts!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

The bûche was not too sweet.  I wish I had a picture of the swirl - the cake part but a mere fragment... I prefer rich to sweet, and cream to cake.

Did they make a personalized avatar one for you?

Don't I recall you alluding to not pulling your weight in terms of indulging our stationery-buying habits? ;)

What I am looking for are composition books that are fountain pen friendly, and not pricey. Particularly, for ref-f Japanese nibs.

I haven't tried them, but search this forum for "mead five star" and you'll find some positive mentions.  Many good things have been said about Black and Red, too.

@amberleadavis my backpack has patches from Evil Supply... it's easy to pick out in a crowd.. I'm the only person I know with a merit badge for raising a skeleton army!  I loved their stuff and was sad when they closed up shop.  If you liked them, check out The Mincing Mockingbird.  :)    https://www.mincingmockingbird.com/

No, their ghosts predated me.

Maybe a few times. Right now I’m pulling and then some. I had to look at Reddit again, and saw a collaboration with Field Notes and Figs (a medical clothing online shop).  The covers are cool, and two out of three notebooks are lined. So, um, yes… I ordered some. I guess that’s what happens when you are a caregiver who can’t leave the house for more than two hours or so. So easy to shop online. Too easy to shop online.

I went all the way to Daiso, a long drive from our place, and didn't buy anything. Definitely pathetic.

Will work for pens...
