He's a great kid.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I placed an order for the Leuchtturm with 120gsm paper plus a matching pen loop because my Mom’s dementia caused me to miss virtual pen club. I missed it last month when the van died in the Walmart lot.

Great kids are most often the result of Great Parents along with love, respect and caring.

Just my perspective...

I do like their A5 note books but have found that the spine tends to break up after a while but I hope you enjoy yours!

dragondazd-

Just this morning the seller amazon japan on amazon.com listed the Hobonichi Cousin for $17.55, free US shipping.  I prefer these because it is just the graph paper, not all of the calendar stuff.  I've never seen a price this low in the US.

Turns out Jetpens, Anderson pens, and yoseka all had the same price. I bought a hobo from Anderson, adding samples of my missing manyos. I bought a cover for my cover at yoseka, adding the celadon ink.

I always thought the hobonichi covers looked neat. I don’t have a life that needs all those pages.  So I must avoid looking at them.  I’m content with the Travelers Company weekly with memo calendar inserts. I wish I’d done a better job at filling them in during 2020. That was the last full year my Dad was alive.

One of my children speaks Japanese.  The Japanese version helps the language skills stay sharp.

In addition to to journaling I am looking at using these covers generally for a5 notebooks

Do you mean the Hobonichi covers?  I asked at Anderson Pens if the A6 cover would fit a Leuchtturm A6 notebook. Evidently the Leuchtturm is just a bit smaller that it would fit, but difficult to install due to the hardback Leuchtturm covers.  Not a $66 risk I want to take.

I liked the Apple Spice cover, that seems to come in A6 only.

I can't speak to a6 but a5 works for me. I bought an a5 2022 cousin cover-only off Amazon for $34 and slipped it onto a Jetpens kanso noto. It also fit the a5 leuchtturm no problem. A notebook that was 2mm taller was more difficult/not great. Try folding both sides back and shimmying them in together.

@dragondazd hmm, I think I’ll have to check on Amazon. That’s a good price I’m guessing. I didn’t see what that particular cover cost. I have many A5 thinner soft cover notebooks, and 5 Leuchtturm notebooks in A5.

When we vacation I always carry a pocket sized notebook... typically a Clairefontaine.  I take daily notes about what we did, where we ate and other interesting items from the day.   I used my last one on our last trip and just ordered three more from Franklin Christoph and threw in one of their leather covers just because.  No doubt the notebook with fare a little better in my back pocket in it.

I also just ordered my 2023 planner... using Leuchtturm again as I really like their layout but got their paperback (B6+) size instead of my usual hardback A5... just a tad more backpack friendly.

I'm using a Apica CD15 (B5) as a running log in addition to Strava. I don't think the 15 pages I have left are going to make it to the end of the year. So I need to get at least one, maybe two right now.

I also use a Apica CD5/CD7 as a shirt pocket notebook. I need to get one for 2023 soon. I'll get my 2023 Franklin refill for January start sometime after October 1st. (they won't be available until then) the October starts are available now.
