I am worried - this thread has been quiet for a few weeks. Surely someone has succumbed to the pleasures in that time?

I just picked up a Yamamoto Ro-Biki notepad, just a tiny bit bigger than Hobonichi weeks size, and am loving it.  I like paper with a slight tooth to it, slick smooth papers like Rhodia don’t do it for me.  I’m not sure if the Yamamoto paper is coated, it doesn’t feel like it.  The paper in the notebook i got is called “new chiffon cream,” and it is a true pleasure to write on.

I also love Munken paper, another “toothy” paper, definitely non- coated, which so far I’ve only been able to buy in Nuuna journals...Nuuna journals are so unique and well made.  Not cheap, the A5 runs from $30 up, but you get 276 pages and the quality is excellent.  Really well made, interesting designs.

Tried to purchase a Taroko Enigma but Taiwan Post is not sending to the UK. I'm a bit worried as I only have enough journals to last seven years. Elia's out of stock. Guess I'll have to order a Stalogy or two.

Add lightness and simplicate.

No Preppy-wannabes at all in any colour, and it didn't look like there was any rack space assigned to that product line, in the Daiso I went to yesterday.

Sad news. :( I popped into the only Daiso (out of three) within walking distance that I've ever seen carry the ‘Air-Seal’ equipped Daiso fountain pen yesterday, and saw that it has restocked some of the colours, but both light blue and dark blue were still absent. I decided to ask the manager about when the missing colours will be restocked. He disappeared into the back office for a while to do some looking up, then came back and told me the product has been discontinued.

I made the trek to Daiso and found little of interest. The only fountain pens were two rather garish Preppy-wannabes - red and orange - ugh. My only stationery purchase wasn't really stationery:  a plain little ceramic chopstick rest, just a white rectangle boldly imprinted 'Petit Bonheur'. I doubt it is named for Rosa Bonheur, but I will use it for my dip pen or brush and be inspired to draw foals or ponies. 🙂

Will work for pens...

Ah, so your ‘local’ Daiso does have them! Too bad it didn't have any Sky or Blue ones when you visited, and I don't know whether it can/will get any more of those. I can't get them from my local store(s) any more, and it's a shame I don't have the darker blue ones for my blue-black iron-gall inks, so apart from two pink, two red and two orange ones, the rest in my pen bag are all Sky. At least I have enough of them for 16 different iron-gall inks!

I did have you in mind when planning the visit and had hoped to find some. Instead there was a group of empty pegs which is unusual because it seems to me that they normally fill them up with anything to hand to make use of all space.

My brother texted me on where to get FAF refill paper. So I let him know where I had bought the set I gave him.  So I enabled a paper purchase.

Either they're just being slack and falling behind in stocking/dressing the shelves, or maybe they're hopeful that they can just restock the temporarily sold out items soon in the same spot?

Did you find a solution for sorting and storing cartridges?

I recently received a whole bunch of Brause nibs, so off to Daiso I went to find more compartmentalised storage cases, but whatever it had is its current range just isn't adequate or space-efficient enough for the amount of stuff I need to keep in one place but easily put away. This is my current composite solution for dip pens, (dip pen and fountain pen) nibs, ink converters, some ink cartridges and Platinum adapters for ‘international standard’ cartridges:

The translucent boxes and (some sizes of) clear snap-lock bags are available from Daiso, but the sample vials and centrifuge tubes aren't.

Oh, and my new Sailor, Platinum and Pilot converters are still living elsewhere, as are most of the ink cartridges I have.

Earlier this week the following arrived from  Vanness....

1 international standard converter

Galen 3 pen pen rest in mahogany

Diamine Writers Blood

20 pack Diamine cartridges- Sovereign set (Majestic Blue, Ancient Copper, Maroon, Sapphire Blue and Chocolate Brown

I have a pen that to date I have been unable to find a converter for. The one I bought was to be used for either this or another pen and fits neither.

Not finding a fitting converter for some older school pens put me on the slippery slope with adapting such pens to be used as eyedropper-filled. The latest was a Bruijnzeel school pen (Dutch made in I think the 90s) where the feed broke in half and I was able to use the front part if I used the pen as ED. It works perfectly.

Worth a try, maybe? As long as there's no metal in the barrel that could be corroded by continuous exposure to ink, it would be a viable option...

Unfortunately not an option to ED it. It's a Pelikan Jazz Elegance and does have metal in the barrel. The threads appear to be brass.  It was a very inexpensive pen at about $15. It came with Pelikan 4001 cartridges and I have tried everything I had for converters. Oh well.

Sometimes when the internationals don't fit, I've had better luck with the Parker converters.

You have probably tried that already though... so sorry, out of suggestions.

BTW I'd never heard of that Pelikan model. Going to try and look it up...

I got mine from Massdrop when they still had such items. I have seen reviews and such for it. Clip is not the well known "beak" clip, M nibs only, fairly thin pen. I have seen it in black and white only. On the left in the photo.

Does anyone else look to thrift stores for their stationery stash? I bought a big bag of ~30 assorted Crane’s cards ($3), about 50 vintage and very FP-friendly A2 (I think) envelopes ($1), and a nearly full ream of off-white cotton laid 8.5 x 11 writing paper ($4) in the past 2 weeks. All great stuff, and I a still have a stash of other past finds. I have too much, but it is all really enjoyable stuff and it is fun to have a successful treasure hunt!

I got a nice fat pad of watercolor paper from a thrift shop a couple of years ago.

I've recently gotten back into journaling, and have been filling up my old Nanami Seven Seas notebook. In the process of looking for a replacement when it's done, I've discovered the whole kerfuffle regarding the new TRP. However, Galen Leather is still using the old TRP, so I bought a couple of notebooks from them, and I've also ordered a couple of Cosmo Light notebooks from danika58 on Etsy, so that will keep me going for a little while.

I succumbed and renewed my subscription to Field Notes since the next release is their 50th. I also placed an order for A5 size Tomoe River paper (100 loose sheets in white).

Two Musubi TR A5s intransit. That'll bring the TR stash up to 12. Enough. Next on the list- Stalogy.

I bought a couple of these storage boxes from Daiso several weeks ago on a whim, before I had any idea I would be buying so much — or any — of the usually high-priced Graf von Faber-Castell inks and Jacques Herbin inks that were suddenly available at unexpectedly favourable promotional/clearance sale prices. They turn out to be very neat for exactly that:
