Well done!

I even recognize some of those... but tell me something about the elephant.

Well I did go back to Daiso for two more Drawing Books. I was hoping for a grey Daiso-Hauser fountain pen too, but no luck. There were lots of boxes of new stock all lined up along the stationery aisles. So frustrating. It's a round trip over 130km, not getting there every day... but, maybe today.

Will work for pens...

I haven't seen them in stock since the before COVID-19, even though at one point (around last October?) 20-to-1 you could only find the grey one instead of the blue one in any given store.

If you want, I'll keep an eye out on them for you.

There are three Daiso stores within walking distance from home, including one I often visit without that much of a detour on my way back from a run around the Sydney Opera House. Actually, my wife told me she was going to that store earlier this morning, but I think she's on her way home now.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Thankyou. That would be much appreciated.

Don't think I have ever seen the FPs at Daiso. Will have to take a look. Have to wait until house arrest is finished and we can leave our postcode.

Smug did a comprehensive review of their offerings - so enticing I was regularly checking their website hoping for a store to open in the west. I agree with his conclusions of those I could find to test for myself - the Hauser is great, the Platinum Riviere not so much (which surprised me because I've been a fan of everything Platinum since my first Preppy).

House arrest? You're in Melbourne? Is the post still working? If so, I could send you a blue Hauser.

Kind offer, thank you, but I will be off to Daiso in a few weeks when we can move again. Appreciate your thoughts.

Looking at that review I recall I have tried the Platinum version and it was awful. Will have to make sure I grab the Hauser version if available.

It was just a design I liked when I browsed the Gusti website. I had not heard of them before and somehow found my way onto their site and I was impressed with the goods on offer and the prices. In fact, for some weird reason, I thought they were in Denmark but it turns out they are based in Germany. Any way, nice products!

Oh, and I have parcels waiting for collection at the post office on Monday, yep, more stationery! :D

Thanks for clearing that up, that saves me some trouble! I thought it was a notebook from India, with good fp-friendly paper... which is what would get me in trouble...

I promised photos of my notebook purchases.

I got these on Etsy. The Kraft Cover and Black Cover notebooks have Tomoe River Paper. The rest I chose based on the covers. The small one will fit the passport size Travelers Notebook, the rest fit a Midori Pouch Diary.

The next ones include a Cavallini Co. notebook I got at a Barnes and Noble store. The others are online purchases.

Is that left one a chinese notebook? I've found some nice, inexpensive, chinese notebooks at a household store last year that was surprisingly good... of course when I went back for more, they'd gone. Still.. I also have some loose leaf of similar paper. A joy to write on.

There were still no grey Daiso-Hauser pens when I dropped in yesterday, but I see Daiso now has yet another model of fountain pen, which looks like a cigar-shaped Platinum Preppy wannabe with a spring-loaded "Air-Seal" inner cap specifically stated as a feature to, "[prevent] ink from drying even for long periods of time." Made in China, available in four different colours (Pink, Sky, Red and Blue — but given they're numbered 2, 3, 4 and 5, I think there must also be a black variant numbered 1 in the series), comes with two long cartridges of matching ink. The nib width grade is not specified on the packaging, as far as I could see.
