Okay, I did it. I finished all the blank cards that I have stashed away over the years. I started with this program.... "Love For the Elderly" and I wrote more than 100 (I am not confessing to how many cards I had).

Now, I need blank cards so I can keep sending cards to strangers. :)

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

That's really lovely. You've inspired me to sit down and cranky out a card to my mother in law later tonight. Thanks.

That's the kind of good, solid financial planning that's ensured that I have a life time of pens, inks, and papers. I am the stationery equivalent of the international seed vault, probably.

Cream and navy plus cream and green cards? Time to stock up on matching envelopes and inks! You make me wish I maintained an active correspondence, but when I show of my pretty writing paper, I expose my bad spelling. What to do?

Oh, they come with envelopes. Very nice laid paper. The envelopes are cream with a Navy liner (or green) which matches the border around the nice laid card stock. Used one of the blue ones tonight. Oh, and the cream matches Tomoe River perfectly. I used mostly Waterman Serenity Blue on that one. Very underrated ink - it isn't sexy enough I guess. I had to replace a bottle, and Goulet didn't have it and neither did Vanness or Anderson. And not because they were out of stock. I had to buy it from Amazon. I do like to buy from one of them when possible.

My new Graphic Image personalized 9" hard cover leather journals in mahogany, garnet and navy arrived pretty quickly after I ordered them. Hopefully, I'll have plenty of time to fill them up while my husband and I "socially distance" ourselves while the coronavirus makes the rounds thru our neighbor hood.

I had a couple of journals from Graphic Image some years ago, but I don't remember anymore what the paper is like. DilettanteG, did you ever review the paper that Graphic Images uses, or is there a review somewhere that you know of? I seem to remember it was a nice slick surface and fountain-pen-friendly, but I don't remember anymore.

Your post has re-awakened my interest in the Graphic Image products...

The Field Notes Spring release arrived yesterday. Yet more of those for my diminishing storage box.

I never got around to writing a reviewing, but here's a very good article on them from a fountain pen user:

And this is what Graphic Image has to say about their paper:

And here is their standard cream paper with gray lines and gold gilt edges:

And here is some shadowing with Noodler's Lexington Gray in a semi flex nib:

I really like this paper, it's very smooth, a decent weight, and you can write on both sides even with a very wet, wide nibbed pen. I've been using these journals for several years and have been quite happy with them, with the exception of their bonded leather which messily falls apart after a few years. Graphic Image just had their big Winter Sale where selected journals were 60% off. It's worth signing up for their newsletter to take advantage of their sales as these journals are pretty pricey if you pay full retail. I go thru about four per year on average, so it's worth it to stock up. Plus, for signing up you get a code for 10% off.

FYI: No connection with Graphic Image, except as a customer.

Edited to add: Each 9" Hardcover journal has 220 pages.

  • 2 weeks later...

I ordered a Lochby Field Journal plus two of their notebooks. They have 68gsm Tomoe River paper. The Field Journal comes with a dot grid notebook, so I ordered one in ruled, and one in plain.

I have used a notebook by Graphic Image. It had a silver skull on the cover. The best notebook I have ever used.

I’m so glad to hear that. Sometimes, I feel like some weird obscure brand evangelist with strange taste, but I’m pretty impressed by them.

I bought a Midori Pouch Slim with calendar because it was half off. Of course, the calendar is half through because it starts in October. I have a Travelers Notebook Weekly and Memo for 2020. So I didn’t need this. But at the particular website only one color was left (beige tartan), and it was one of the colors I liked. Addict here, I have a paper problem.

I think I mentioned that last year for Christmas, I bought each member of family a custom Gatz BCN journal. Today, my son decided that he should do his home work (write for 7 minutes and then read to your family) in the journal. I'm just bursting with pride that my son is self isolating and using the time to write about the experience ... oh and learning to enjoy special papers. He came out to get a different pen so that he could see the ink on the TR paper.

That is a sweet story Amber. Nice to see your son has an interest in pens and good paper.

Does he have a favor ink color?

Not yet, but my middle child has discovered that he really likes the TWSBI Go 1.1 with Monteverde's blue from one of the pen shows.

Put a Black n Red notebook in an Office Depot order. It was in-store pick up, so Im leaving it in the garage for now. It does not have the same cover as the one I had. The item number matched. I think I need to check for a website to see if the notebook has changed. Im actually using the current one, and decided I needed another. The cover felt different.

Well darn, the notebook they had has Evernote marks at each corner on every page. I wanted the paper for letter writing. Not sure if I should return it, or cover the Evernote symbols with stickers. Lots of stickers.

Stickers. Unless you have some white out you need to use up....
