They are no longer sold online.

I did connect with Artlifting. They told me they are available at $25 each including shipping but it is a "process" to order direct from them.

Been meaning to get into Home Depot for a couple of weeks or so. But life has gotten in the way. Maybe in the next couple of days.....

You are coming to Vegas soon so maybe we can make an emergency visit?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

For those of you who love Black and Red notebooks as much as I do...

8.5 x 11, 70-page, Black and Red notebooks are, at least for today, an Amazon add-on item at $6.48 each. Getting to the $25 minimum order for an add-on item purchase is really easy; just order 4 of the notebooks.

Since I have no need for any more 8.5 x 11 Black and Red notebooks, I ordered another set of four just in case of, well, something.

Thanks for the tip! I like these notebooks for practice writing.

Hey, I really looked at that red pencil that they had at checkout.

If you have read the three sucky things today thread, well let me vouch for Runnin_Ute that going after paper is the last thing on his mind at this time. I’m one of his pen pals, so I’m being protective here, but it’s not the time.

I agree. RU has other things on his mind right now.

Meanwhile, thanks Wolverton for the tip on R&B notebooks.

I’ll be getting my first A5 size Leuchtturm notebooks for my birthday. With a Barnes and Noble membership, if it holds to past practice, B&N has a members’ appreciation weekend this month. Limited color choices, but I could get the A5 in a dot grid because I’m expecting ruled. These notebooks lay open nicely.

With that said, I do like the Circa and Tul systems that let you move pages around and customize.

Stationery? At Home Depot???

See what I mean? I thought Office Depot and typed Home Depot.

In all seriousness though, life threw a variety of curves in the last 30 days or so. My Dad passed August 30th, the funeral was September 5. As the oldest, I was tasked with giving the eulogy and Dedicating the grave. I was out of the office August 31 through the day of the funeral, back in the 6th. A lot of time was spent with him those last few weeks as well. The 6th through about the 11th were crazy busy at the office (month end-I'm an accountant. Thank goodness I have terrific co-workers)

Thank you Misfit and amber. You guys have been great through everything that has been going on. You have been great friends. I don't mind saying so here in public space either. Good friends are hard to come by.

Come to think of it, I have a friend who lives in Portland, OR that I have known since probably junior high school (early 70's) - who I told I would send him a letter and I haven't. Probably ought to do that.

Condolences from your Australian FP friend. I lost both my mum and dad over the last few years and, having the biggest mouth in the family, was tasked with the eulogies. Its a tough gig honouring someones life in 10 to 15 minutes. Hope you have plenty of happy memories to lessen the hurt.

Condolences from Curacao. I too lost both my parents not too long ago. I'm also the eldest in our family, and so did the eulogy for my father when he passed. Very difficult. We had our youngest sibling speak for my mother...

Those are always difficult days. Work seems to help, somewhat. I wish you many good memories, and strength.

Thanks, Pete. That is so true. I started making my first draft two weeks prior to his passing. The first draft was two handwritten pages with a lot of holes. M200 Cognac OB, Diamine Saddle Brown on Rhodia....... Final was just over two pages typewritten double spaced. Right about 10 minutes.

Thank you Margo. Most days since the funeral have been pretty good. But there have been a few really hard ones. My first day back in the office was one of those. 9/11 was another. Dad was given military honors at the funeral for his service in the late 50's and early 60's in the US Air Force. I have seen many of those (grew up in a neighborhood right across from a cemetery during Vietnam), mostly when I was a kid. But those are always difficult.

Time to buy a new fountain pen. That will be a nice distraction. And a few notebooks while you're there.

Also, doing something with them. Maybe write down some favorite lines that your father liked? or if he had things he'd say to you, things like that. A new notebook would be ideal for that.
