I got three packages of Midori E-Clips. I think they count as stationery. The sets are stationery, space and dinosaurs. There are 4 of each, and can hold up t

I like these!  I use the T-Rex and Stegosaurus clips all the time in my planning notebook.

Currently most used pen: Lamy 2000, Makrolon <F> -- filled with Lamy Pink Cliff ink

@Misfit I bought a set of those at a manga shop across town from me, but just bought the ones that have the "cat" design.  Don't know if they had the set in your first photo (including the pen & ink ones).  The "space" design ones are just SOOOO you!  And the dinosaur ones are awfully cute....

This is what I know about Tomoe River paper: there were always 2 machines, #7 made the 52 gsm and #9 made the 68gsm. #7 started having problems and was on the struggle bus for a long time. Sometime in the end of the last decade the manufacturer decided that the maintenance #7 required was getting to be too difficult. The 52 gsm was then also made on #9 (“new” TR 52). The paper recipe and machine (s?) were sold to Sakae. Sakae makes 52 gsm Tomoe River Successor (TR “S”).  Meanwhile, the 68 gsm is in some sort of purgatory. I have old stock, some that was sold to me as new but turned out to be old, and there’s talk that 68gsm is gone and that Sakae is trying to develop a higher gsm TR paper.

Aww darn. I meant Sanzen rather than Sakae. Good catch, @Runnin_Ute!

The Jet Pens order arrived today. The Life Vermilion is A6 size. The Midliner is Lavender color. The eraser is a foam eraser that is supposed to erase cleanly. The lead is for some mechanical pencils I found on my Dad’s desk that take 0.9mm lead. Finally, a Pilot MR Houndstooth with CM nib. I put a sample of Montblanc Oyster gray ink in it. The notepad I used is a Midori Diamond notepad, which I highly recommend.

Two orders tonight. First for the most on topic..... A couple of Apica CD7 pocket size notebooks, a 80 ml bottle of Diamine Classic Red. (finished off the last one) from Vanness.

Went over to Newton and picked up a Majestic in a material called "D Squared Arts Urban Offroader". Very cool gray/tan combo. Very industrial looking.

I reckon Apica is somewhat underrated. My Apica CDs are fantastic.

While I really enjoy the feel of the paper in general- colors that are normally vibrant look a little washed out in my CD15. They’re excellent for note taking with a no frills ink like Quink.

True - I use them mostly for note taking so fit for purpose. They are great value too.

The Life Vermilion is A6 size.

I just love the looks of this little cahier in its 60s design. It strongly reminds me of this notepad:

...which I've been meaning to get since I saw it, but forgot soon after 🙂

Thank you for sharing the photo. It’s a very sharp looking pen.

This is the photo Shawn had on his site. I had to get creative in pulling it. It didn't want to let me download it directly, like I have been able to in the past. I am hoping it looks every bit as good (or better) in person. I should have by mid week.

I need to start writing cards.... my list is ready.

of the ones on the list, Christmas cards are now done. Sixty this year (+/-). Now, I may end up sending a few more, say if I get a card from someone that wasn't on the list.

  • 2 weeks later...

A visit to Daiso yielded these A6 notebooks. They have a creamy colour paper and 5mm line-grid. I already had the one with the murky-green cover (it has lines with 7mm spacing) and found it very nice. I haven't tried it with anything more testing than an EF nib  but it works fine for that.

I'm going to use them as my go anywhere bullet journal for the coming year. I got 6. Is that enough for a year? Bargain compared to a Leuchtturm that would be too thick to carry around anyway.

My crossbody bag is tiny so that's why A6. And the tiny pen case carries a Kaweco Sport fountain pen and rollerball as well as a Kaweco Special mini mechanical pencil.

Will work for pens...

Noice!

Still haven't touched my Daiso haul from our Osaka and Kyoto trip earlier this year myself. I think I need to start drawing again. Got an idea in mind for a “stickman” cartoon, but alas I'm sure it's going to offend some folk (less so here than on Reddit).
