I got spoiled when Birmingham Pens had a B&M store in Pittsburgh.  I keep forgetting to look at their website.... :headsmack:

As gifts for my friends, I went to Daiso and created a gift bag for each.  I had so much fun!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Birmingham inks - now to see how long before they ship.

I placed an order on 10/6. When it had not shipped on 10/12 I emailed to add a few things to my order. Received confirmation from Nick on 10/13 of payment for the additional items. Just emailed to ask for a shipping ETA...

To stay on topic: I made my usual swing by the clearance endcap at Target on Friday afternoon, where I found six 300-sheet reams of 24# Astrobrights (Neenah) 94-white last paper for a buck each. I also snagged a 5-color 50-sheet pack of Astrobrights card stock for 50 cents. Didn't need any of it, but we all know properly stored paper doesn't go bad 😄

That Birmingham ink order from the evening of October 13? I got tracking today (26th). The Safari I ordered from Endless Pens last night, shipped today as well.

Oh, the expectation.

Mine should be here Monday. It's ironic that I move mail for USPS and know that I moved my package yesterday. But I have to wait just like everybody else for my local station to do the down-sort and for my carrier to deliver it. Anticipation!

Retro 51 sent an email, and I clicked on it for the T-Shirt, then found the notebooks. So I ordered two three-packs of pocket size dot grid 70lb/100gsm paper. They are by Denik, so I suspect they will be fountain pen friendly. Both are space themes.

I need to check my inventory on certain notebooks and notecards and replenish. Plus I have to start thinking about getting my Christmas card list updated. I am aware of several family members that have moved - I just don't have the new addresses.

In addition to these, on FPD (oh, the sacrilege!) I bought a couple of Uni-ball 'one p' ballpoint pens and a bunch of oil-based ink refills, expecting them to be difficult and far more expensive to get in Australia. Oh, and some owl bookmarks, as well as Pilot FriXion self-inking stamps, that my wife saw and liked.

But what's really sad and pathetic is that we loaded up on some varieties of cheap notebooks from Daiso and MUJI, that I haven't seen their Australian store carry. A couple of ¥200(+tax) Daiso A5 zippered organiser cases, as well; and a bunch of fabric (note)book covers and bookmarks she wanted.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

70lb/100gsm paper

Just arrived, 2 B5 notebooks heavy paper and incoming 2B5 and 2A5  notebooks light paper, and another pack of A4 Cosmo Snow before it runs out.

I can't decide if I like heavy paper or light paper.  Do you have a preference?

LOL, I do it all the time....  I see I have a ton of stuff I haven't even looked at, and then order more...  Right now I'm on the hunt for a thin Tomoe River B5 notebook with a soft cover.

How do you know when you have enough Tomoe River notebooks?

You never have enough Tomoe River notebooks. 🤪

So true.

I have a variety of notebooks I use. For some things, I like to use Apica notebooks - and I have two or three sizes I like -- the CD15 (B5), CD11 (A5), the CD5/7. Clairefontaine Neo Deco (A5) is another I have a use for. Field Notes for some other things. I have at least 3 of those active at any given time.

I need to maybe start looking for a thin TR A5. I use one for an ink journal, and while I have a back up- I only have one in addition to the one I am about halfway through. (using one that is 160 pages) It is Sakae TR 52 gsm paper

@USG  I suppose a variety is best. I like Field Notes, but can’t count on all of them to be fountain pen friendly. Sometimes, well often, I buy a notebook for the cover. I do quite like the old Tomoe River paper. I stocked up on A4 size when it was going to become new Tomoe paper.  That was before it was goodbye until Sanzen. I haven’t tried their version yet. I do have two notebooks with Cosmo Air Light and Snow paper.

You are well stocked. 🙂👍  Haha, soon I will be too....

I have a B5 Apica inbound.  Can't wait to try it.... 😀👍

Today one of the note books I'm writing in is that very same Sakai TR 2gsm - mine is blank... I like it 👍😀

Hi MzFit

I remember that you like notebook covers.  Adds to the enjoyment. 👍😀

I have 2 older Kanso notebooks with the old paper but I stopped using them to conserve the original.

I also have a bunch of the transitional paper that I'm not that keen on.  The Sanzen paper is OK but not the same, and I seem to be using a lot of it, along with Cosmo Snow.  <-- my favorite

I had a bad attitude on Iroful because it wasn't white, but I'm trying to get used to it because it will be the only high contrast paper around when all the Cosmo is used up.  I'm also giving Thin Kokuyo another try.  Toothy View Corona... I'm undecided.  Sometimes I like it sometimes I don't..

@USG I just wrote on both sides of Midori MD loose paper with pens with stub nibs. No bleed through or show through. I like white paper better.  The Midori paper is just cream enough that it’s obviously not white.

Does Midori have any white paper?
