Closest Daiso to me (Salt Lake City area) is Las Vegas metro. So about 360 miles or so. Roughly a 6 hour drive one way.

Won a drawing at my local Pelikan Hub Friday. Bottle of Ferris Wheel Press Writing Desk - great color! and a Yamamato Fountain Pen Friendly paper sampler. (no. 7) 5 sheets each of 16 different papers. In addition to the Pelikan swag- Edelstein IOTY Rose Quartz and other items.

Someone had brought a bunch of Birmingham inks. I brought home samples (or fills) of Hot Rolled Steel, Emerald Fusion, Cornflower, Shortleaf Pine and Salmon Hors D'Oeuvre

I don’t even know what Daiso stocks.

I think “what Daiso stocks” has to simply be evaluated in the present tense, i.e. at the particular point in time when the question is asked. I suspect Daiso stores work on the principle of, when cartons of goods arrive from the regional distributor, just open them up and fill the shelves for that product category. There are no product labels or price tags on the shelves themselves to indicate what goes where, or show which items are in range of what the store carries but is out of stock (by virtue of having a product label against an empty section on a shelf). You don't really get to ask whether a product you don't see on the day is in stock (out the back) or when it will be restocked. The only time a duty manager was able to give me an answer to that kind of question was when I was able to show him the 13-digit Japanese Article Number (JAN) in a photo I took of the physical item a fortnight prior.

I've been trying to find the ‘correct’ unique identifier, outside of the JAN, for this or that notebook product printed on the front or back cover, but even something as unintelligible as MZD-19-P10 does not appear to uniquely identify a notebook product by series, paper size and ruling, cover colour, etc. I was just looking into it last week, and was stumped to see two different products (that do not merely differ in colour of their covers) bearing identical text in that format.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

If you like the stuff on the website, you can usually find that stuff in the store.

https://daisous.com/

Otherwise, ASD has explained it well.

Personally, I love the page flag / post it notes. I use a ton of them at work and so I buy them wherever I find a good deal.

Let me know if something strikes your fancy. If I find it when I go, I'll scoop it up.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Hmmm.  This thread has got me curious now, so I went on Daiso's website to see where the closest stores to me are.   Only they're about 8-9 hours away, in eastern NJ and NYC (apparently there's a location in Flushing, Queens).

Lihit Lab book style pen case on amazon. In the reviews, I saw a red one.

I was looking at the exact same pen case and on Amazon, in the reviews, someone said that Cult pens had it at a cheaper price. I looked on Cult Pens and it was half the price of what Amazon had it!

Sadly, the colour I wanted is out of stock so I still do not have it!

Did you get it and if so, how is it?

@Stompie I did get the coral red at Jet Pens for $15. I figured why not get the color I decided I really wanted.  It holds my favorite brand of puzzle books. I haven’t loaded much into it yet.  It’s a nice design. I hope you find one you like.  What color do you want?

I think @AmandaW has one. I forget what she planned on using hers for. I tend to get pen cases, and they wait on me to use them.

Even though I’m in the US, I do shop with Cult Pens and other UK websites when they have something I can’t find in the US, or a better price. I do like getting the 30ml Diamine inks from Cult Pens.  Wow, I just looked at the book style pen case at Cult Pens. They have all the camo colors. Nice.

I have two Lihit Lab book style pen cases. One houses “special occasion” gel pens that I wouldn’t use on an everyday basis, like glitter or metallic ones. The other is for travel journal accessories. I can fit a pocket travel watercolor palette, water brush, Stickyle scissors (the ones that look like a pen when stored), Field Notes-sized watercolor paper, lead holder, lead sharpener, mini eraser, washi tape (wrapped around a plastic card), an adhesive roller, and a photo sticker printer. (It’s a lot when I list it out!) This is all theoretical though. Whenever I actually travel, I am often pressed for space and end up leaving it at home :’)

Actually, I figure I can wait till Christmastime, and maybe add that in to my somewhat yearly pilgrimage to Fountain Pen Hospital and (more recently) to the Lamy SoHo store -- and maybe this year get to Yoseka Stationery as well, depending on how much time we are in the NYC area.

And maybe even get to do some museum hopping, too.... B)  (It's been a few years since I've been to the Met, and probably even longer since I've been to MOMA....)

My husband will NOT be thanking you, BTW....

Keep us informed as to the final outcome.

Order finally shipped.

Product now listed as in stock, and with a lower unit price than when I purchased it.

Birmingham inks at the Hub.. I brought home samples (or fills) of Hot Rolled Steel, Emerald Fusion, Cornflower, Shortleaf Pine and Salmon Hors D'Oeuvre. I may get one or more of these. I have used Hot Rolled Steel and Emerald Fusion the most so far, but haven't yet tried all of them.

I was looking at the red but was also considering the black one.

Had the pleasure of starting a new notebook today. What a wonderful experience when you finally make that decision and actually put ink on the first page.

I thought so. I have only previously tried one or two of the papers - so lots of new to me stuff. (finishing up a 100 sheet pack of Sanzen 52 gsm TR) So far, I have only tried the 75 gsm Cosmo Air Light and then only a half sheet (A5)

I have the No. 6 pack and I really like the Kin Kaku Den Super White and the Premium Bank Paper. There was a food packaging paper in the last one called NFC 35 that was really cool. I have to look and see what’s new in this one to see if there’s enough of a difference to justify buying it.

I didn't even know this was available. I got it in a drawing at my local Pelikan Hub along with a bottle of Ferris Wheel Press Writing Desk.
