Week #42 / 15 Oct: Breast Cancer Awareness Month - 2017 Weekly Ink Project

October is breast cancer awareness month. In France they call it "octobre rose" (pink october). So this week let's pick a pink ink (alliteration and rhyming intended) . If you don't have a pink, maybe something red, magenta, purple?

As usual, don't forget to share with us your choice of ink, your writing, drawing, doodling or anything with the ink in this thread. You can take a photo, make a scan, or even better, write letters and CRV reviews (what is a CRV?) and mail them to the many ink pals here. You are welcome to check back on this thread even when we've gone past this week.

Click here to read more about this community project. Links to the two previous links can be found there too.

Yep, somehow #41 is the neglected child...

What a shame. People are missing out on an incredible pair of shoes.

Thank you white_lotus.

I never saw the link for it until now. Not sure why...

OK, here's my contribution for this week. I think it's a nice combination.

Wow. How did I miss that ink before now (I've loved most of the D'A inks I've tried except for the Document line). And normally I don't go all "matchy-matchy" with pen and ink colors but that worked well. And makes me want one of those M600s even more -- not that they're *remotely* affordable at this point....

I'm so far behind on this project. I really meant to do one for last week but I've got to find the ink that matches the garment really closely....

It's a repeat ink for me, but cleverly enough, it's another De Atramentis - we have a series going. :D The pen was a gift from a friend (I infected her, she tried out the Nemosine, but didn't like it, so she shipped it to me :) ).

I didn't know you liked these kinds of soft pinks, Ruth!

Guess I blew a fuse...

These are all my pinks, on Tomoe River paper. It's the 2nd colour I have the most of, the 1st being blue-greens/ teals.

The first one I bought was Iroshizuku Yama BUdo and the latest is Graf Von Faber Eectric pink - which i LOVE

Bonus for sheen lovers:

I have a pen inked with Yama Budo, which I unfortunately don't use very often. So the ink has been there for a while and it now writes a lot darker and with a lot more sheen than YB dipped fresh from the bottle - it doesn't even look like the same ink..

I'm constantly surprised by what it turns out I like and don't like. I do actually have and like some pinks -- although one I thought I *would* like, J Herbin Rose Tendresse, turned out to have just enough of a lavender undertone that it was somehow sort of grating on my senses. Which was weird because I like a lot of purples, and lavenders that are dark enough to be legible.

The two that freaked me out the most by liking? J Herbin 1670 Rouge Hematite (the original formula with the big flakes of gold) and Noodler's El Lawrence. And normally I can't stand blood reds, or pretty much *anything* "murky" that might have a green component to it....

But yeah, I like pink sometimes (the first pink ink I bought was fairly early on -- Noodler's Shah Rose.
