I am happy you guys enjoyed my post. I was very impressed by the event and all the surrounding pleasantries that accompanied it and hoped you would find the pens as fascinating as I have.

Gratitude Pravda for the peek into a world most of us aren't privy to. Curious as to whether you could buy any thing at these events or are they simply a way for Montblanc to express their thanks to their most loyal customers?

I'm also curious what you have to do to become one of these loyal customers.

Thanks again Pravda for the wonderful post; I've read through it a few times.

May I hazard a guess that the Rouge et Noir 110 is fascinating you the most? Price?

The Moore is quite appealing too.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us, and letting us take a peek at the Artisan collections up close. What a treat! I do love that elephant on the Hannibal cap.

Thank you for posting the pictures!

So.......let's say I wanted a Watt & a Kandinsky...how much would the damage be?

My googling tells me that the Kandinsky was about 155000$ and a James Watt 83 ~ 55000$ (no idea about this 35 edition though).. Perhaps these two would make up your new everyday carry? :)

Somewhere along the curve a pen is more a piece of artwork and less a writing instrument... I'm also certain there will never be agreement on just where this point is.

I’m enjoying the mobile art facet of my pens. The pen itself, the use of the pen, and what rolls off the nib - sometimes visually, sometimes content. Unlike cars, planes, or boats, I’m confident these will last my lifetime with regular use and occasional maintenance. In that sense, they’re more pleasure than a stationary piece, as I can indulge in more settings.

I think most would agree $50k has crossed the instrument curve into artwork.

Thank you for that.

What you've expressed has been inchoate in my thoughts but I never distilled it as you have.

Mobile art to be enjoyed in a wide variety of settings — Nice!

With reasonable assurance that they'll be with one throughout life, come what may.

I share your enjoyment of fine fountain pens, despite yours being of a more refined quality than mine.

Nonetheless, we both never stint on ink...or cookies.

Thank you for the pictures...a visual feast, indeed.

They displayed the Beatles 1969 and 88. Did they display the special edition (or was it not up to par for this event?!1)

I would echo zaddick's post. You are very generous in spending your time to share with us all your fantastic experiences as a pen buyer, a user, and a special invitee to a very glamorous event. Yes, you really enrich this forum, showing pens that I would never know other ways. A warm thank you, pravda!

As to the pens, several of them do not match to my tastes, but I can recognize – as you justly noted – the amount of design and craftsmanship required to blend together so many different materials in such a perfect way. They are extraordinnaires!

We are so fortunate to have Pravda here :)

Amen! Living vicariously through his pics.

Wouldn’t have gone down the Skeleton route if he hadn’t demonstrated the 90th Anniversary.
