Fade Proof Royal Blue (Indian) Ink

Howdy folks!

 

I am looking for a bottle of Indian Royal Blue ink which will not fade with time. I am not interested in iron gall based ink(s). I will use it primarily for taking down notes.

As far as I know, there is no such fade proof Indian Royal Blue Ink.

The current fade tests have some of the Indian inks. I will report more. I suspect that the blues will not hold up well.

I guess none. You can try Pilot, Diamine or Pelikan though.Pilot Blue and Diamine Blue(different shades) are quite good in this sense. However, these inks are almost 300% times costly than common Indian inks though.

I use Daytone royal blue for taking notes. It is fade resistant for sure but not sure about fade proof. I have notes written 3 months old without fade.

i also use daytone royal blue..

i have excess of it.. if u need some i can send it ur way.. let me know

I usually use Bril Blue or Camlin Blue. I found camlin resists fade better than Bril. For lecture notes, i switch to Pelikan black.

 

I use blue only for journals and letters. I have never tried Daytone. How is its performance compared to camlin ? I dont like dull blue, i prefer a bright blue shade and i like camlin, blue among the indian inks.

Koh-i-noor Document Blue. Certified as an ISO ink, so should be reasonably permanent, about $5 uncluding shipping.

Edit: I just noticed that I actually linked the blue-black version. It *is* going to have excellent fastness, but it's more gray then blue. Now I wonder if Pilot Blue exists in this size or just the 70ml little bottle.

I currently run a blend of Pilot Blue and Blue-Black. It's a bit brighter than the Bl-Bla, but with a tad more gravitas than the Blue.
