Hello From Denver, Colorado

Hello everyone,

I recently joined the fountain pen cult community, and have been coming to FPN for information. So, I thought I'd join in, and start interacting!

A little bit about me: I have always been into pens and pen colors, looking for the smoothest experience. I have owned every color G2, Sakura, etc. you can think of. Although everything in my work life is digital, I'm still a sucker for the analog style of taking pen to paper. I thought it was time to mature my writing utensils.

My journey started with multiple pens from Lamy (Safaris, Al-Stars, and Vistas), a Pilot Metropolitan, and a Noodler's Ahab, as I search for my preferred nib size/feel and ink colors.

To me, everything about fountain pens is deliberate and I am thoroughly in love.
This is an amazing corner of the inter-webs, with a wealth of information and personality. I can't wait to get more involved.
Cheers,

Welcome to our little corner of the universe from a pen user in San Diego.

“Calamophile—I learned the term from a blogspot—means “pen lover,” and derives from calamus, Latin for “reed writer.” Excerpt From Ink by Ted Bishop

Welcome to the obsession!

You do know there is a pen show in Denver this week, right? If you are being ensnared by the fountain pen world, a pen show is the place to be. Go to coloradopenshow.com for info.

May we live, not by our fears but by our hopes; not by our words but by our deeds; not by our disappointments but by our dreams.

Hello Newsha and welcome to FPN, from Cape Town, South Africa.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!

Welcome !

We are linear creatures (analog). In our digital world, writing by hand is very therapeutic. You probably noticed that Vista is a clear LAMY Safari, and

Al-star is an aluminum Safari. Do you know that the nibs of these pens can be changed very easily ?

Write with joy.

Welcome to the pen community in Colorado!

Of course, the show! http://www.coloradopenshow.com/ 6-8 Oct (Fri-Sun) All the details are on the website. We have a GREAT lineup of vendors this year! Very interesting lineup of programs (to help you decompress a little) and, of course, members of the Colorado Pen Posse to visit with - we're a pretty nice bunch of people, if I do say so myself :)

The more I know about computers, the more I like my pens.

Welcome Newsha. Keep your eye posted for Denver-area "Pen Posse" gatherings. They are great "show and tell" events--often at someplace fun, like a stationery store or a restaurant. It would be nice to meet you there.
