I find this gray to be very appealing. Might get a bottle pending on water resistance tests.

I'm afraid that the soak tests, which I did when I did the review but didn't have time to scan, are not very optimistic. Of course, Diamine never comment as to whether any of their inks are or are not, water-resistant. There are some that are pretty good.

As usual, I use basic copy-type paper, probably 90gsm and give the sheet a rinse followed by a 30 minute soak. Final rinse and dry.

In my opinion, a simple spillage wouldn't really effect most 'ordinary' inks that aren't marketed as waterproof, bulletproof or whatever. Long-term immersion is another matter altogether!

Doh, that's too bad. Thanks so much for this test. I have and love Diamine's Asa Blue, which smears a lot when it comes in contact with water but is still mostly readable. But another ink would be my most favorite if not for miserable performance when it comes to water: even text that was written weeks ago completely lifts and blurs out if a water droplet lands on it: within a minute! Can watch the ink lifting and swirling and a super pale, barely noticeable line remains behind. I love the shade, but that kind of fragile impermanence caused me to seriously question all of my future ink purchases from now on.

Loving this ink!!! I have observed a purple hue which I really liked. Thank you for all the comparison colours too!

Thanks, everyone! I really like the look of this ink. Is anyone able to compare it against a non-glittery J. Herbin Stormy Grey? To date, I've been eyedroppering SG to avoid the gold as I love the base colour but it's a bit of a hassle. If this gets close I'd be well tempted to switch :)

(I've currently tried Stormy Grey and Diamine Graphite, Grey and Silver Fox - Stormy Grey still my clear favourite.)

TIA :)

Not sure whether it's a good thing or a bad thing because now I may have to get one...

Does anyone has Sailor Chushu to compare with this one?

If you're still interested, here's a comparison with Sailor Chu-Shu and Noodler's Dark Matter. Earl Grey, half evaporated, might get as dark as Chu-Shu.
