Week #38 / 17 Sep: Inkuinox #2 - 2017 Weekly Ink Project

Great going so far! I don't have any orange and not even a brown or sepia (some "Fire Opal" is supposedly on its way to me though), so my submission for the week is the nearest-shot-which-is-actually-a-long-shot; Diamine Oxblood.

Below was done in little time and with even less technique, but hopefully shows the ink's behaviour in a variety of situations (fine nib, thick nib, brush and diluted on brush)

I have to say I chose it as just this; nearest-but-not-quite-there, but I discovered a great ink that I like and may use a lot more in the near future!

Wow.

I hope you don't mind. I've taken a screen shot of your tree for my "screensaver of lovely art"

I love it.

Oxblood works well as an autumn colour.EBGBs

Yes indeed many lovely colours this week. These weekly ink projects are very good at extending the ink wishlist!

So far I particularly like the KWZ Monarch ink, nice colour(s) and magnificent shading it seems!

Thank you Tas and Lgsoltek for your kind words. You made my day.

I was thinking the same thing about Monarch: really nice.

Does anyone know if it is still sold exclusively by Fontoplumo in Delft, Netherlands? Or available elsewhere?

I'm going with a stereotypical autumn colour: brownish orange:

Here's an attempt at drawing...

Wonderful colour!!! :)

My submission this week, Diamine's Golden Brown.

I did originally try a sketch with Iroshizuku Ina Ho but it came out waay too dark when splattered or brushed on. In fact, I think I actually prefer the colour of Golden Brown. It is a little dry but my old toothbrush didn't mind.

Ink: Diamine Golden Brown (toothbrush splatter), Quink Black Solv-X in my trusty Namiki Falcon - nib used upside down to create Silver Birch markings.

Paper: Cass Art Watercolour 300gsm. - note to self, line up the "grain" of the paper in future . . . .

I love this drawing!!!

.....and Krishna Autumn, a beautiful, soothing orange was sent by an Ink-abler. I'll need a bottle when I've finished the sample. Errr, a bottle of this ink, that is.
THANK YOU, Ink-Abler :)

WOW, I already was in awe seeing only part of this piece of art on another topic. Love to look at the full drawing.

I approve wholeheartedly. Krishna Autumn is a very nice ink —just right for the Equinox today!

Great fun today at Sakura InkArt workshop with Nick Stewart - learned some neat techniques for working wonders with ink. The pic below was done with Noodler's brown, and named by Nick himself. Fits well with the autumn theme.
