Marilyn Monroe

Hey everyone,

A magnificent lady for whom I worked many years ago is soon celebrating her 85th birthday. She always used an older Meisterstuck for her personal correspondence. She was not a fountain pen fanatic but she certainly was a fan of Marilyn Monroe and emulated her style and still does so beautifully. Friends are planning a party for our ageless, generous, outlandish "Marilyn" and I thought the new Montblanc Muse Marilyn Monroe would be the perfect gift. What say you? I don't like that it uses only cartridges.

Love all, trust a few, do harm to none. Shakespeare

I think it is an elegant pen. If someone is a big fan of Marilyn, I think they would appreciate the pen meant to honor her. Whether the design of the pen appeal would be individual and dependent on preferences.

If the cartridge fit into the pen by simply screwing off the section, like with the 145, I think the mini Kaweco or Monteverde push pull plunger converter would work as the top of the converter could adjust to fit within the clearance of the barrel. Just my assumption.

What a generous and thoughtful gift for a special person!

It sounds like an excellent idea, cartridges notwithstanding.

For an outlandish “Marilyn” such a rich red pen with a pearl on the clip might be ideal.

Why not?

Thank you for sharing these details with us. It's sure to be a fun party.

Nice gesture.

There's another thread, further down this forum, in which a new owner gives an excellent description of the pen.

I'm not keen on any pen which is solely cartridge use, but despite this, I have a few such pens, so it's something we can overcome.

Good luck.
