The new Jacques Herbin 1798 Amethyste De L’Oural is a very lovely ink indeed and reacts with bleach a treat. But did you know that when you blend it with Caroube de Chypre and Emeraude de Chivor, some wonderful magic starts to happen! Check out those sheens!

I’ll be demonstrating my abstract calligraphy, amongst other things, at the workshop on 23rd September. Come along. Details below:

Awesome. Similiar effects cab be achieved with watecolors. I should try painting a small picture with these inks, landscape or still life. I dont want to use up too much ink though.

So visually pleasing ! Any of the four, in the first picture, would be striking on the hood of a car.

Auf freiem Grund mit freiem Volke stehn.
Zum Augenblicke dürft ich sagen:
Verweile doch, du bist so schön !

Wow! Stunning as always.

I just got my hands on a bottle of Améthyse de l'Oural over the weekend. This may just save the rest of the sample of Caroube de Chypre I had gotten a while back, because it turned out to not be a brown that wowed me (a little too red in the underlying color for my taste). And I never got a bottle of the Emeralds of Chivor for the same reason -- didn't like the underlying color (even though the sparkles were fun and the sheen looked amazing).

Thanks for posting your latest experiments/playtime/artistry results.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Ruth - to be honest I was half expecting a mud colour with sparkles (3 or more colours mixed tend to make a brownish mess) so I have to say, it's a nice visual surprise and I'll do it again!

Thanks for sharing. The color is lovely.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).
