This one is a scarce 1.5th gen (first-gen parallel cap and second-gen streamline barrel), with the later chevron cap band and split feather clip.
Colloquially known as the "Majard".

They do photograph very well don't they, I don't know if it is just how the light moves around the barrel or what.

Agreed. They do seem to be some of the easiest to get a good shot of :)

Not sure why either. I suspect it’s cause the celluloid is just so nice to look at that we forgive stuff in the pics we would hate in others (shine, reflection, etc)

The Azure Blue is the ONLY color of Vacs that I have more than one of.  But the one that gets used the most is the Red Shadow Wave (I think the size is a Junior) that I got in the Saturday night auction at one of the early pen shows I attended -- I could not BELIEVE that I didn't get outbid on it!
