Excited Over New Purchase!

Midx

Recommended Posts

I have just ordered myself one of this years limited edition Pilot Vanishing Point pens, 'Crimson Sunrise'! It'll be my first VP, having wanted one for some time, so I thought I'd take the opportunity now as it's such a gorgeous looking pen! I hope it won't take too long to arrive...

Needless to say, I'm excited!

Congrats! The VP is a very good pen and the medium is wet and smooth. It is also only like $70 to add more nib units to swap line widths to other sizes if you want to later. You might find the pen works better with cartridges (also hold more) then the supplied converter. I refill my cartridges for max ink supply and best flow.

It arrived yesterday and I love it!! I've inked it with some Diamine Ancient Copper and started using it as my work pen. It's really nice and smooth. Even on a post-it note, there's no bleed or feathering, but that may be more to do with the ink than the pen...

Congratulations! It's a pretty pen -- but the regular VPs are a bit too large and heavy for me.

A couple of weeks ago, I saw a used Raden pen in the place where I found the black one I gave my husband. Even used, it was pricy but boy was I tempted. But there's no point in getting him one with a medium nib, and no point in getting a standard sized one for me.... :(

I don't understand why Pilot makes all these really cool colors for the standard size VPs -- but only have a few colors for the Decimos (and only sell four of those colors in the US). And I looked at their website last week (and used Google Translate to get the info) -- they don't even make the more interesting colors in EF any more -- let ALONE sell those colors in the US.

If Pilot was a US company, they'd probably be hit with a Title IX lawsuit. Heck, I'd probably be bringing one myself. Do they not understand that not all men have large hands? Or that not all women want a pen that's "Champagne Pink"?

(Sorry for ranting -- I just was reading the thread about the new MB Marilyn Monroe pen, which is also decidedly NOT on my wish list...). But if Pilot brought out a Decimo in Crimson Sunrise? I might be interested....
