Week #35 / 27 Aug: True Love - 2017 Weekly Ink Project

Recommended Posts

This week, use your favourite ink.

As usual, don't forget to share with us your choice of ink, your writing, drawing, doodling or anything with the ink in this thread. You can take a photo, make a scan, or even better, write letters and CRV reviews (what is a CRV?) and mail them to the many ink pals here. You are welcome to check back on this thread even when we've gone past this week.

Click here to read more about this community project. Links to the two previous links can be found there too.

Great choice, Liz. Looks wonderful in your drawing.

I'm having a really hard time narrowing down my choice of favorite. The one I'm thinking of right now is one I may have already used in an earlier week... Hmmmm.

We all know THE favourite doesn't exist. That word has to come in plural.

That's what I was thinking. No way to have just one favorite! So many inks, so little time... :D

Plus, it was confirmed sometime earlier in the year: it's OK to repeat inks. ;)

Thanks! That ink works really well with a water brush. (That probably doesn't speak well to its water-resistance, but that's OK.)

This ink just blew me away the first time I used it. I know taste in colour is very personal, but this one just makes me happy using it. I have a 2016 Pelikan M120 Green-Black that is almost constantly inked up with this. Pure joy!

Nice. I may need to go add a sample of that to my wishlist! :) Robert Oster is fast becoming my new best friend.

OK. I'm not sure if I've used this ink previously, but no matter... True love is true love. And here he is...

As I've already posted many of my favourites in earlier weeks: Akkerman #10, Mont Blanc Midnight Blue (IG), KWZ Hunter Green, Sailor Rikyu Cha, Kyonoto Nurebairo etc. I thought I'd look at what ink I currently have loaded the most in my pens. Prussian Blue was in three pens. I love it and I use it all the time.

Another gorgeous drawing, Tas!

And I sense a strong theme of blue blacks - which I'm not surprised!

That's a great color —the red is a really rich, deep red. I have it loaded in a vintage Waterman 100-Year Pen (burgundy red).

This is a test ink, but loved the behavior and though I prefer blurples, the behavior made this the ink that ended up in all four pens when I was writing 55 pages per day of notes.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Sydney Harbour Blue is trying to push Tekker Penman Sapphire from its perch at the top of my "Best Inks of All Time" list.

Both are in big Ranga eyedroppers with great nibs.

a fountain pen is physics in action... Proud member of the SuperPinks
