Toronto Pen Show, Scriptus 2017, Question

Question from a first time pen show attendee. Are tickets required for admission (as a general attendee, not a vendor) into Scriptus, the Toronto Pen & Writing Show?

If so, when will the tickets be available? If not, what is the process or normal flow for admission? I guess what I am asking is if there will be a huge line-up waiting at the door to get in before the show, or if the peak admission time is more in the afternoon?

Nope... NO TICKETS... Attendance is FREE !!!....

The Scriptus team works VERY hard to keep the Show accessible to everyone... :D :D

Make sure you drop by my desk... and don't forget to pick up a bottle of two of the 2017 Scriptus ink!! ;)

Sorry... forgot to answer.

Because Scriptus Exclusive ink is very popular, the will be a line up. The first year we introduce Scriptus Ink (2015) we were sold out in 40 minutes. The next year(2016), we double the inks, and put a cap to two per person. It was sold out in 45 minutes (we just slow it down by 5 minutes). This year, we are doubling the inks once more. With the 150 years of Canada, is a very special ink. If you want to grab one, you will need to be there early.

As Cyber6 said, it's free admission (and yes, I can personally attest that the Scriptus LE ink sells out super-quick - I missed it by 5 minutes last year).

Beyond this, my experience with the show has been that the number of people gradually increases towards lunchtime, but it's never been so crowded that you feel crushed IMHO. That said, if you are into vintage pens or looking for something specific, it's better to be there earlier for the best selection, but if you're just browsing, anytime is good.

HTH!

(BTW, what is the Scriptus LE ink this year?)

I just finish the label (literally last night). KWZ is currently bottling it. As soon as is ready, Philip and David will put it up on the Scriptus Website.

The Scriptus LE inks are always fantastic! Almost reason enough to relocate to Toronto (as if Americans need another excuse to relocate).

There will be a lineup at the door to get the ink of the day if you are early enough. Also there are tables set up as you enter with items to be drawn. You buy tickets and place them in the box with the items you are interested in.

The show space stays open but if you leave for some lunch, you may have a brief wait to get back in when the Library reopens. It is not a big space but there is lots to see. I suggest doing a quick walk about then return to the particular tables you want to check out. Some of the vendors will be busy (ie Phidon or Stylo) so be patient and someone will take time to answer you questions.

Is there a previously agreed upon name tag format to allow FPNers to show their affiliation and FPN username so as to recognize each other? It would be pleasant to see/meet other members we currently only know by their posts here. Just a thought :-)
