Your Favorite Italix Nib By Mr.pen

My first Italix pen is a Churchmans Prescriptor with a medium cursive stub nib. I had a pretty awesome experience with Mr. Ford and decided that I'm going to make my next purchase through his Mr.Pen site rather than through massdrop and would like everyone's opinion on their favorite nibs from Mr.Pen.

 

Lately, a ton of my pens has been picked with stub nibs, because I just love stub nibs. However, I just purchased a Metropolitan with a fine nib and now I'm thinking I need to go on a Fine nib binge lol. I'm leaning towards a Fine, Extra-Fine, Italic Fine, or Fine Cursive, maybe even an oblique. I'll be honest though I'm a little scared of obliques only because I'm still rather a newbie in the hobby.

Please chime in with your favorite Mr.Pen nibs I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts and preferences.

I have

Captains Commission (fine italic)

Captains Commission (medium italic)

Churchmans Prescriptor (broad cursive italic)

 

All of the nibs are superb, and all are used on a regular basis (at least once a day).

For standard handwriting I use the fine italic, as it really suits my slope down, left to right handwriting.

If I need to be a bit more bold, thank you notes etc, I use the medium italic.

And if I need a bit of flamboyance, or larger writing, envelopes, cards etc I use the broad cursive italic.

I have been known to write and play with all 3 just for the joy of using them.

Like yourself I was a bit apprehensive about italics (biting the paper stories) and started with the broad cursive to see how I got on.

When I got the medium italic, it was so smooth that it was never going to bite any paper, and I had no hesitation when I came to ordering the fine.

 

If backed into a corner and had to live with only one of the three, I'd pick the fine italic....it is sublime, and as I said before, it really suits my handwriting.

If you want to try an italic fine, go for it, Mr Fords nibs are a joy to use, and I'm sure you'll be impressed with whichever you choose.

Fine cursive on a Viper's Strike.

I've also owned a medium cursive on a Churchman's Prescriptor, and a fine italic on a Parson's essential.

Love them all, but the fine cursive takes 1st prize.

That's why I have my mind set on a Imperium State with a fine cursive nib.
