Okay. Ghost's "old bandages" description has me sold. I bet the rest of the forum thinks we're terribly morbid... and they'd be right. *grin*

-- Black Cherry ink

-- Legal Lapis ink for my VP

-- VP converter

-- Nightshade ink

That's a baby wish list. ;) You should see my wish list. <shudder> Maybe we should set up a support group.

Maybe we should set up a support group.

I thought that's what this place was. Although the "support" is more like enabling.... Hee.

And I like that my wish list is a baby one. See, I can look at this little list and know that all of it will be mine within a couple of months. And I'm all for instant gratification! :)

I'm not at all opposed to blood-red ink...but it's gotta be really opaque. I don't want to see any paper lurking underneath that blood. (Well, maybe a little. But not so it looks fake. :) I think.)

I thought this WAS the support group...

Oh wait, this is the "co-dependent enablers?" dang it! I always get that wrong...

I blame the internet for all my shopping. I find out about cool pens; stationery and organizing things I can't live without; and beautiful sock yarn and spinning fibers. And those are the the things I blow my spare cash on. Enablers are everywhere online...

Well, in order to better serve you, it would help us greatly if you would explain which things you would prefer to blow your spare cash on.

This is how Black Cherry looks like in the Visconti Skeleton! Blood in bones. ;)

Hmmm, mine currently has black ink in it, but that Black Cherry definitely looks like it would go well with MB Kafka. :happyberet:

A shop with PR inks is just a block away.

Give in. It works for me! :D

You don't want to know how long it took me to find skeletons with B nibs. :P That means "at a price I could scrape together" as well. <_<

Edit: I've gotten the impression the Laban's B would be my idea of an M, so I shouldn't lust after them. True?

I'm not saying a word. I do NOT need six hundred dollar pens... :)

How do you know until you've owned one? You may wonder how you survived all of these years without a $600 pen. :roller1:

I got my skeletons for under $300, which isn't a vast improvement, looking at my budget, but they make me that happy and I figure I'll be using them the next 30-40 years barring theft or a Cat 5 hurricane...

Now, on the Gothic pen topic, I found something pretty at my local Tuesday Morning store in the clearance case and dropped a little pocket change. A fountain pen, nib size unknown but feels M, with a matching gel roller ball. Black covered in traceries of silver colored metal in pretty vines. I'm thinking they might be silver plate because both have lozenge shapes on the caps where engraving should go. Pen has a nice irridium nib [it says so] in 2 tone that writes amazingly nicely for a medium/fine nib as I test it with a spare cartridge. They were in a red jeweler's type case with no papers. Both pens and case say "Capella", case also says "Made in Thailand."

They're pretty things and I got them for what I'd spend on an Office Despot no name set of ball points, so I'm happy. Sorry, I don't have a digicam yet, so I can't take a picture. Anyone ever heard of these?

:roller1: Agreed!

Caligatia, lots of morbid people here -- try doing a search in the ink sections for "blood." :o

That's how I decided to acquire a bottle of Noodler's Antietam.

I've recently seen a real-life sample of Black Cherry, although on colored paper, and it's very pretty. Sigh. I need to start the Ink Sampler program. And Leigh R's posts frequently make me  and add items to my wish tome list.

No, but if you send them to me I'll take a picture for you. *big innocent eyes*

The Duke pen, the inks, and the converter have been ordered. I love payday. :)

Oh, I skipped the Legal Lapis, though. It hit me that, as clumsy as I am, bulletproof ink is probably a bad thing... Heh.

Not at all, at least in my experience. I had one Laban which I've since sold (a solid sterling silver "Othello" model) and it was a true Medium, on the thick and wet side. Laban uses Bock nibs, so it is a standard European sizing system.

Caligatia, if you haven't noticed already (as I am sure you have) we will help you spend your money in a heart beat.

As you can also see, there is a small click of alternative music folk here also. I am more Industrial (Ministry, NIN....) or older Punk than Goth but they seem to cross over a lot. I have seen and or heard all the groups you mentioned and Bauhuas - Bela Lagosi's Dead was the first step to the dark side. A late welcome to FPN and good luck with maintaining a budget.

QM - thanks for the nib sizing info. I'm forever grateful to you for your Krone rave as they're paying for themselves in writing done.

caligata - I'm with you. Everyone knows what ink is inspiring me on a given day or week from the multicolored stains on my hands. I have enough trouble washing off the NON bulletproof. I know who besides me is going to be pacing between the doorstep and the mail box.

Everyone - I went nuts and ordered a camera. So in a few weeks, when I figure out what to point and what to click, I may be able to share the goodies.
