Gothic pen?

Still no response. Will have to try and remember to call tomorrow. Sent pens out June 22, is now over a month without a word. All it takes is a simple postcard like the Yard O Led folks sent me.

but have in recent years found an appreciation for Joy Division, The Cure, and Sisters Of Mercy.

Oh boy! Joy Division!!!! I had all their tapes and T-shirts and I really liked them!!! (New Order after their main singer commited suicide). I was trying to remember the old name... :happyberet:

'Ghost Plane' date='Jun 24 2007, 01:06 PM'

I've got at least one from Kraftwerk somewhere in my collection. Maybe I'm in the right thread after all!

If you're not, I'm not either. I'm to be 50yrs old and I'm finally getting my Kraftwerk collection completed. Never thought of myself as Goth/punk (?) but I did like also the Dead Kennedys...eventually I moved to Ambient Music (any one Brian Eno, VidnaObmana, Steve Roach?), Dance/Trance and really all sorts of music.

Yep, Eno works. But I've floated off into totally NON Goth stuff like opera singers or bands doing pop stuff in harmony. There's just times in a girl's life where she needs a male voice crooning something totally romantic. Josh Groban has shared my bathtub more times than he'd ever want to know.

If you like brooding, esoteric crooning there's always David Sylvian :cloud9: I'm still waiting for him to cycle the divorce experience out of his music though.

Sakura, if you have satellite XM radio, on channel 77 (? get it confused with 73 on Sirius) you will hear David Sylvian 'n more.

I don't have any satellite radio :bawl:

I console myself with a nearly-full collection of Japan, most things from Sylvian, and some Ryuichi Sakamoto (I don't like all Sakamoto but the older material is genius.)

What genre does that XM channel claim? I hate when they toss Sylvian in the "new age" heap.

Hmm... now you're making me think... Well, it's a channel that hoge-poges (?spelling?) Ambient music, new age, celtic... anything which "sounds" New Age. Sometimes they air Hearts of Space (?), which I think it's a radio station (Peter Gabriel's?) that does a lot of Ambient and New Age stuff.

i just remember seeing the name there, but I cannot tell you which piece they played. I've seen in Sam's equipment for you to hook satellite either at home or at the car. The one I've seen is XM.

I had it already installed (factory installation) in my Chevy Blazer.

My car still plays cassettes

No news back from Krone after Dana took my number Wednesday and promised to check the status of my pens :bonk: Guess I'll have to get on the phone Monday and become an irritant. :crybaby:

As promised, here's the update on the Krones that went in for warranty work.

Communication was spotty, but the pens did arrive by UPS when/as promised. Nicely packed in tons of p-nuts, bubble wrap and each in a nice velvet drawstring bag stamped Krone. My letter to them explaining the problems I had with the pens was wrapped around the pens.

No documentation back what was done, but assume all is as it should be. Fired up both with PR Tanzanite figuring it would highlight immediately if the piston leak was fixed and fired away a few pages in my journal with each. The skipping problem with the Boulder hasn't reappeared so far and the nib is floating wetly. Only time and a few loads of ink will confirm success on the Celtic Archetectus, but so far I'm a happy camper.

All in all, took from end of June 'til now, which I find highly reasonable. No questions, no problem warranty work. While it was a bit worrysome tracking them down after silence, I've got to give Krone kudos for their warranty service and treating my precious darlings well.

These folks do what their warranty says they will, which seems to be a rare thing these days. I'll feel better about shelling out for more of their pens in the future. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL and the nibs are deliciously wet floaters.

No, because then there'll be less of them for me. :bunny01:

Now all [ALL?!] I have to do is overcome the new computer equipment issues and I might be able to play with the camera as early as.........oh............next week? :yikes:

And finally, as promised, the update on the Yard O Led sent out for repair the end of June.

Insert drum roll here.

Those guys are fantastic! Replaced the section and nib and polished up the old darling and sent it back all spiffy and new. Well worth the wait. Sold me on adding another to my collection next time I'm flush. I won't feel as bad paying the price for a grand size now that I know there's phenomenal service behind it, no matter how old and shabby it gets.

There are probably purists who'd moan about the dark section [ebonite?] getting swapped for modern silver, but all I wanted was a working, writing pen so I'm MORE than perfectly happy with my sparkling new all silver pen. Looks way better to my mind. Tightened up the cap that was a PIA because it wouldn't stay posted and now I have perfection again. I'd forgotten how good it used to write before it banged around the world. All the box and bits came back with it and I have a clean fresh warranty book instead of one that smells musty and was yellow from sitting in storage.

Service just doesn't get any better than this. :cloud9:
