Intresting Music Nib

Hello ,

 

I have a Waterman 515 with a very intresting Nib.

The picture is below. As you can see it has a beautiful design and finish.

 

 

Does anyone know the history or any information about this nib or manufacturer?

 

The nib is 14K gold and has a vintage flex quality as well.

Thanks for posting the photo. Sorry I can't be of any help (one of my pens does have a nib that says 14C (as opposed to 14K) so I've been told it was either English made, or made for the English market. Clearly yours is English manufacture.

The ink is Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-ryoku.

I didn't know about the K vs. C distinction either, until I tried to get information about the pen (a no-name lever filler) at a pen show a couple of years ago. Talked to a guy who specializes in flex and semi-flex nib pens, and he sent me over to Paul Erano's table (on the grounds that Paul knows a lot about vintage pens). So Paul pulls the cap and said "Well, I was not expecting THAT!" And tells me the nib alone was worth about 5 times what I had paid for the pen!

Pen turned out to not be easily repairable, so at the Triangle Pen Show in June, Ron Zorn fitted the nib and feed into a Parker Parkette he was restoring (which is a whole lot nicer pen than the pen it was in).

The other music nib I have is in a Craig (Sheaffer budget sub-brand) BHR ring top, which I still need to re-sac. Don't remember if that one is 14K or not, but I think it might be (and I'm assuming K, not C).
