Removing scratches from plastic

I go with the nail polishing stuff too. I haven't shined many up that way. I tend leave the scratches and just polish the pen with an ordinary duster and a bit of multi-surface household polish.

 

But, where I have wanted to remove a couple of scratches I've used elbow grease and nail polishing files - the ones with a foam core and several different grades of surface. They seem to have worked reasonably well.
