Mini Review Wings (Wing Sung) 3001 Clone Of Pilot 78G

I am wondering if the colors are "random" because the seller only orders one monochrome box at a time and has no way of knowing what will be on hand the day your order arrives. I once got five Hero 50s in :random" colors from jewelrymathematics and all five were the same color!

I have encountered no issues with things screwing on or off. I am not sure how thick you wanted the plastic to be but mine seem strong enough and comparable to the Jinhao 991. They have not had any cracks which I have experienced with the thicker 992 and 599.

Today I had three of these still inked from my tests last July and August. In one the ink had completely dried out so that none was left in the cartridge. The other two started after a bit of fussing. I would have considered it acceptable if it had been a couple weeks but it was several MONTHS! Out of curiosity, I tried the three Yirens still inked and three out of three started with some fussing. Among the five that started was one with a Parker Penman cartridge, often regarded as the champion of pen clogging. So I am pretty happy with the Wing Sungs, less happy with the Yirens only because of the vagrant trim rings.

:yikes: Yeah, I'm never going to buy multiple 'random' colors again.

I wish the plastic had been slightly thicker because I'm afraid it will break once I carry it in my pencil case in my backpack. I use the train to commute to university and I fear the jostling and knocking around will be too much for the plastic.

The ink completely dried out after a few weeks? Well that's super bad news. Do you use a cartridge or its converter?

By the way, I love my two Yiren 359, the nib is so wet and smooth. Brava, Yiren!

Don't remember but it might be rash to blame it on the pen. When testing new pens just to see if/how they work I might use an ancient already 2/3 dried out cartridge or only fill the converter 20% full. If the pen is a keeper I will clean it and then fill it with what I really want to use in it.

If you want something stronger the Baoer 801 has a metal cap, barrel, and section for under $2US.

I see. I'll take this with a grain of salt then.

And thank you for the recommendation but I have a question. My Baoer 388 is an extremely dry pen, is your Baoer 801 the same per chance?

I don't remember my 388 being dry but it's hard to predict based on one pen. I have about a dozen 801s and they do not write dry. However, they are petty intolerant of inks with flow problems such as some of the Thornton inks. The troublesome Thorntons may dry out overnight and be hard to get going in other pens but they won't write at all in the 801s.
