If you want sheen, then Tomoe River paper is your best friend. My Yama Budo on Tomoe River looks more gold than magenta...unfortunately, I don't like sheen.

 

Agree with that. I've been surprised how Tomoe River paper will show off sheens that other, even good quality paper, won't or won't as well.

I had enough of the broad nib. I am sure the nib was over polished and hence skips and hard starts. Cultpens (where i bought the pen) exchanged the nib for me for free and even refunded the shipping cost of the nib. I got a Fine nib this time, which arrived perfect. Nice ink flow and not over polished. Very consistent and lovely to write with. As expected from a pelikan fine, it writes more like a medium which i love :-). Amazing support and customer service from cultpens.

I'm glad to hear that you managed to get your pen writing well and are happy with. I think it pays to buy from established sellers that back up their product.
