"peacock Blue" Ink

Hmm, the closest I've come to a peacock lately is when a teacher rang up to ask if "Peacock Damage" was covered under warranty...

On closer questioning he explained that he had brought a peacock into his classroom to show his students, and it had pecked a monitor, damaging the flat screen.

He didn't seem to be aware of the possible consequences if the peacock had pecked, and damaged, one of his students.

And no, "Peacock Damage" was not covered under warranty...

And if that teacher had been raised with the superstition I was, about "bad luck follows if Peacock feathers are inside a house," he wouldn't have been bringing the Peacock into the classroom!

We had a flock of them on my Grandparent's farm, perhaps as many as 30 or more, when the Foxes were contained. Anyone who has not lived with them & heard their cries would not believe it possible for such beautiful male birds to sound so plaintive. My Grandfather was terribly superstitious, while his wife was not. I remember her covering a hat with the feathers, when I was a child & his disapproval. She was very proud of her creation & ignored him completely, wearing her hat, whenever she pleased. Since she outlived him by more than 20 years, perhaps she was right about disbelieving their portent of "bad luck."

Huh. Why do I have a feeling I'm going to see that on a TV ad for IIRC Farmers' Insurance sometime in the near future? After all -- they've run ads showing dogs having doing water ballet in a flooded kitchen, and a "stag" party (with real deer) in someone's swimming pool....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

So long as they pay me for the IP rights to the story, I don't mind.

We have a thread here, just dedicated to blues.

Personally, BSB is the only ink I've ever seen that is as bright as our peacocks.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY
