The closest I've ever seen to the original Parker Peacock blue is Bung Box Sapphire Happiness (Hatsukoi). It was made by the head of Sailor ink to be as similar to the original ink as possible (I think. Fact check me if I'm wrong). It's one of my favourite blues to use, the only problem is how darn expensive it is.

I keep looking for a substitute for the old Skrip Peacock Blue. The closest I've found (so far) is Diamine Turquoise, but it isn't an exact match -- the shading is close (it's got that sort of darker edge crispness to the line that I think some people refer to as "haloing", but the sheen, not quite so much....

But it sounds as if the OP is actually looking more for a color that is the body of the bird (rather than the turquoise in the "eyes" on the tail feathers). So possibly a look at the threads where people are trying to match the old Parker Penman Sapphire, although that might be a little dark.

The neck looks like Asa Gao, the forehead a progession from Souten to Équinoxe 6, the eyes on the tail feathers Ama Iro.

I think Kon-peki is close to the chest feathers in that photograph, but I'd say you just have the entertaining opportunity to look at dozens, probably hundreds, of blues before you find what you want. As someone said above, when you are trying to match a color in nature, the light, the angle, and so many other factors come into play.

Waterman Inspired Blue in a fine nib is very close to what I would call "peacock blue".

Holding up a writing sample/swatch test of J. Herbin's Eclat de Saphir against the peacock photos and it's spot on. It won't photograph or scan even close, though, but that would be my suggestion to sample at least. Doesn't look so great in the sample photos I'm looking up online, either. Actually, Pelikan Edelstein's Sapphire looks almost identical to my eye, maybe a hair redder. Hope that helps.

Is this anything at all like what you were looking for?

I bought sapphire Blue hoping that it would do the trick. I didn't think it was a match, but maybe it's time to look again. Blue Velvet too.

Maybe I thought it's the colour, but it's actually the property I'm after. Wouldn't we all want an iridescent ink?

I just ordered a few blue variants of Luster Dust to experiment in attempting to get that iridescence ..... we shall see!

Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku has my vote, but in any case it depends on the pen and the paper.

 

Also Herbin Eclat de Saphir, which to my eyes most closely matches the peacock photo and the blue powder. I have it in a wet pen.

... the problem being that "turquoise" as a name is conceived by different people and/or companies to be quite different colors....

Private Reserve is one ink choice I haven't pulled the trigger on yet- mostly because I can't find a local vendor and the prices on eBay or Amazon seem steep. But the inks get a lot of praise. Thanks for putting them back on my radar.
