Conway Stewart 466 Flex Nib Feels Scratchy

I suspect the idea that the nib has an unintended "curve" to it that straightens out under normal writing pressure is correct - this combined with the nib needing some general care and attention.

 

There's no need to get Henry involved here - if need be I can always visit him in person.

I have several CS pens with similar nibs, so I think that the curve of the nib on your pen is not unintentional and not meant to "straighten out" with normal writing. Take a hint from your mother and increase the angle of the pen hold, and forget about flex... See if that works better for you.

Seems as if you're right, I'll give this a try. Thanks, I guess mothers really do know best.
