What Do You Have Inked?

Three of my five inked this week are Pelikans!

M1005 (demo) <F> with Iroshizuku Syo-ro

M1000 <B> with Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo

M800 <F> with Robert Later Caffe Crema

I do like how Iro inks perform in Pelikans, since they're wet inks and wet pens and I love that combination!!

I only have my M805 inked. I cleaned out my m215 and amber m200. I was just not using them. Maybe if I picked up an a B or Cursive Italic nib for them, they would get more use. I actually a few weeks ago cleaned out 7 pens and put them away. I just have shifted way from F's to M's and B's. Until then I will just keep a daily rotation between my M805 and an MB 146.

I finally inked up my recently acquired black M300 with Petrol but it's too wet. May try Take-sumi in it instead as it seems to be a bit drier, judging from the 2 pens I've tested it in.

Also, got tired of waiting for the Take-sumi to arrive and inked the M405 Streseman with KWZ Maroon. If the Take-sumi works well in the M300, I'll probably move it to the M405 and find something else for the M300, maybe GvFC Deep Sea Green.

Pelikan P381 with Edelstein Sapphire cartridge. I loaded the pen with the Sapphire cartridge in 2014, used it for about a week and then mislaid it. In spite searching high and low I could not find the pen and resigned myself to the fact that I had dropped it somewhere. Sorting out my bedside cabinet yesterday and there was the pen. I thought that it would have dried out but it wrote perfectly with the cartridge still about quarter full. Nice end to the story.

EDC flock... dropped the black Pelikan 140 (M) in favor of a more broad nibbed pen (100N). I think these strike a great balance for everyday/common writing needs (no real room for BB/BBB nibs even though they are great fun).

Also, been loving the new ink mix I made out of Pelikan 4001 series inks which is:
- 2 parts Blue Black,
- 1 part Turquoise and
- 1 part of distilled water.

Pelikan 100N Green (B) inked with Pelikan 4001 BB/Turquoise/H2O mix,
Pelikan 100N Black (EEF) inked with the same and
Pelikan 400NN Schildpatt/Tortoise (OF) inked with MB BB/Caran d'Ache Hypnotic Turquoise/H2O mix.

Incredible, rather unbelievable. Left unused for three years and the pen still writes!

I must say I was surprised Khan. I don't normally leave any pens unused but I think that the type of ink has a lot to do with it. I know that I have had MB cartridges dry up after only a couple of weeks.

Souveran 750 SE in silver plate, the 150th anniversary edition from W Germany, with M 'EN' nib. Beautifully smooth, a real pleasure to use. One of those pens that makes it hard to continue following the rotation... I just want to refill and keep on using it.

A very simple black M200 old style inked with Diamine Oxblood. It may be old and battered, but its performance is right up there with the best.
