Nice. I have equipped all my happy color 45s with solid 14k gold nibs. And in some cases with gold rings and period correct gold clipped caps.

Gold enriches any pen but otherwise I prefer to keep it as it came from the factory....
by the way, how many P45 model came with 10k Nib!?

Please excuse my English but in my 1st language we can call you (malik al riyash 45) which means the king or the expert leader of P45 Nib... very interesting

ملك الرياش ٤٥؟

Is الرياش the plural of الريشة?

Thank you, anyway, HIN.

Yes, ( الريشة ) means feather or nib, the plural is ( ريش ) or (مناقير)

لا، لا. انا لا اود ان انادى بلقب "ملك المناقير" لانني لست طيرا من الطيور. :)

Hi H1N, et al,

I have no clue what anyone has said for the past few posts, so I hope this is still relevant,... but I only have one 45 so far, but I like it a lot.

It is an early Insigna model with the 12k gold FILL, (NOT plate), with a 14k medium nib that writes like a dream. It's one of the first vintage pens I got that I actually enjoy. :D

And I'm a sucker for gold pens. :)

I had no idea that P45s came in such a huge variety of colours. I am not sure that all those colours were available in England. The P45 got me through school and university like a lot of people, but I thought I was really smart using one, but one of my teachers used a P51 which was even more desirable. Even my PhD supervisor used a P45 and a flighter jotter, not the matching 45 ballpoint. Everybody seemed to use the Flighter model of the P45 (myself included) rather than any of these exciting colours.

According to the books, the P45 has been available in the U.K. since 1964, so you'd be forgiven for thinking that we had masses of different models here, but I'd tend to agree that Newhaven didn't offer as many variations as the States.

I've just looked through my humble collection of 21 different pens, and surprised to see that I only have two with octanium nibs - the others being gold. I wonder if that disproportionate ratio is common throughout other collections?

yes, nice pens ........... the variation seems almost endless. Have tried not to duplicate any of he o.ps. colours/combinations, so here are a few more. Why don't I have one with a gold coloured barrel terminal? :)

How didn't I notice this before now, nice tableau! PaulS,
but Why don't You have one with a gold coloured barrel terminal? :)

quote ............... "but Why don't You have one with a gold coloured barrel terminal? :)" ......... truly I don't know why - can only assume that this is a feature or design aspect that may have appeared in the U.K. only rarely.
