It is strange how I can have several pens loaded with Kon-Peki and Ama-Iro and depending on the pen they are different colors. I have five blues right now but those two are my favorites. I was eyeing several more though, but I decided to try some teal's for a change. I cut down the number of inked pens to nine at the moment. Four are blue.

A freshly inked Ama Iro looks awesome and radically different on a wetter, evaporated pen, which is also very nice looking. Anything in between looks kinda sad though, at least to me.

Latest iteration, I'm happy with how each one looks now, Kon Peki and Souten look a lot closer with wet nibs.

Depending on the pen, all three green blues can look identical: Kon Peki, Équinoxe 6, Ama Iro. I might yet swap Équinoxe 6 and Ajisai to other pens, or finally give it a rest!

I've got five more blue samples coming from Anderson. Love their ink comparison tool (better than goulet, IMO, and a better ink selection for my interests).

My penpals have been sending me some notes using enticing blues. Curse them!

At least at this point in life I tend to only have one of any given color and so far Ive been very happy with my single color choices. Kon peki, my jaku, oyster gray and midnight emerald are current favorites. Syo Ro really tempted me but too close to the others. The one that was a miss for me was caran dache ultra violet so technically I dont have a good purple. Since I use them all for business I am sensitive to my color palate but... one at a time.

Diamine China Blue, Indigo, Misty Blue, Sargasso Sea, Beau Blue, (Bilberry, is this a blue or purple?), Aqua Blue.

RK Blu Mare.

Iroshizuku Kon Peki, Tsuyu Kusa, Asa Gao, Tsuki Yo, Ama Iro, Shin Kai.

Waterman Serenity Blue, Pilot Blue. Jentle Yama Dori.

Herbin Bleu Nuit, Eclat de Saphir, Bleu Myosotis.

What else *should* I absolutely get?

I am considering blues that are not teal-ish. Yama Dori, though a well made ink, does not get much use.

Interesting that I have at least a dozen blues, and none of them are these. There’s scope. :)

Including teals, turquoises and a BB:

> Lamy Petrol

> Kobe Kana-cho Midnight

> Sailor Nagasawa van Gogh Dark Blue

> Waterman Inspired Blue

> Sheaffer Skrip Turquoise

> Sailor Yama-dori

> Pelikan Royal Blue - have never tried it

> Organics Studio Nitrogen - just got, waiting for pen to arrive to try it

> J. Herbin Bleu Pervenche - horrible bleeder, gave it away (beautiful color, though)
> Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo - very disappointed with this

> Pilot Varsity Blue

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Let me see. My definition of blue is broad. I am only counting the bottles here:

Pilot Iroshizuku Ama-iro

Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-kai

Noodler's Texas Blue Bonnet

Nagasawa Kobe #14 Maya Lapis

Bungbox Hatsukoi

Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuyu-kusa

Nagasawa Kobe #56 Rokko Hydrangea

Maruzen Athena Eternal Blue

Nagasawa Kobe #48 Suidosouji Marchais Blue

Yeah, it's about due time that I order another bottle of blue ink...

Ajisai is barely legible with a Penmanship, might need to get it a Japanese pen with fine nib, as opposed to extra fine... If I see Kon Peki and Souten side by side I can't help but think what's the point... But by themselves they are stunning.

Yes, Ajisai to me is a beautiful colour but I feel it requires a wetter pen and/or broad(er)/stub/Italic (to fledge and spread it out) to make it come alive :)

I've gone through Bad Blue Heron (Looks more green blue), Eclat De Saphir, Navajo Turquoise (more blue than than Heron), and Baystate Blue (bluest blue. Like electro blue).

Baystate Blue is my favorite blue, and I don't think another blue can match it, so I'm not buying any more blues. I did a lot of reading before buying and decided to dedicate my Medium Nib Cross Radiance to it - it writes smooth as silk and looks beautiful and really stands out. I'm only using it for notes as the super blue contrasts with all the blackness in the materials around me, so it stands out.

I'm forcing myself to use Bad Blue Heron more, but I'm not a really big fan of it, but it';s not so bad from a italic nib.

Latest rotation, still note sure Souten looks like it should, I'm liking a very dark Myosotis. Ajisai was orphaned, hopefully remediated next week. I've been meaning to take a photo when there's plenty of sun.

I see that the autocorrect got you good, and I giggled myself silly over it. That was supposed to be Diamine Regency blue, right?

One! (Once you find the perfect blue)

For me it is Diamine Oxford Blue

Good grief. I didn't even catch that, and I reread just because of that.

Though, dopamine kind of fits because it can be a high.

One more than I have. Regardless of how many that is.
