Nemosine Alpha Centauri- First Impressions

I'm really, really impressed with this ink.

I'll be completely honest, I bought it for the nerd factor alone. I picked the ink with the most water resistance, I liked the color, and there's apparently some pretty intense sheen, although this paper doesn't bring that out.

I'm actually pretty blown away. I expected to like the color, but not this much. The color is deeper than expected, The shading is out of this world (no pun intended). The water resistance is better than I'd hoped. No problem at all using this one for notes that I want to survive an act of God or coffee- I really thought I'd be using this one "for throw away notes only" but not at all. It's impressive. Not waterproof, but impressive.

It's not photographing well for me but here's an up close view of the shading:

Woah, they're a freaking steal, too, at $7.99 a bottle.

I'm getting this, solar storm, neptune, blue, aeolus paulus red and both of their shimmering colors as soon as goulet has the stipula passaporto in stock.

I'm asking Goulet if they'd be willing to take my money now and hold off on shipping until the passaporto comes, to bundle it all together, but I'm assuming they can't have paid stock lying around for their own logistics reasons.

It depends on how long it's going to take for the passaporto probably. It can't hurt to ask, they are amazing.

Now that I've tried this ink, I want more. I chose this as much on its properties as its color but I'm hooked now!

That does look pretty cool.

I'm going to have to check it out next time I'm down there.

Does anyone know where these inks are coming from? (Who is producing them?, Country of Origin?) .. There is no info anywhere. (Or at least I haven't found it)

Thanks,

My bottle says: "Bottled at 40*25'49.8792"N 79*59,50.01"W". I'm not even kidding, this company is deliciously nerdy.

I'm no good at these things but Google suggests that's somewhere in Pennsylvania.

Well I did learn something- if an item is about a week away they are able to set something aside. Several weeks, and they run into the inventory problems I suspected.

Goulet also just ran out of centauri. So I just ordered their entire line of inks from nemosine directly (same price, slightly cheaper shipping)

I'll try to get reviews out, since I ordered their entire lineup.

Oh fun! Nemosine has more options on pens than Goulet as well. Let us know how your experience is ordering from them!

Oh -- that sounds like Birmingham Pens! I'll have to wander over there tomorrow (their B&M store is *only* open on Saturdays at the moment, unfortunately).

I had already been curious about the new colors of their house line of inks. Not sure who's making them -- discussion in another thread said in Germany, so they may be relabeled De Atramentis (the way the Architekt line was back when they were xfountainpens.com). Now I have another excuse.... ;)

Like the two nebula colors especially - but I don't do sparkly/'twinkles' ink.

I don't either, sparkly inks remind me of those glitter gel pens that were so popular in the 90s. Write with them, and brush against the page, or close the notebook and...

Two weeks since Nemosine billed me $90 for their ink collection. Got a confirmation of payment/order, but the order has not shipped, and two emails to them have gone unanswered.

I'm really, really angry.
