Ensso Piuma

Did anyone else back the Piuma pen from Ensso on Kickstarter?

Mine arrived today, and I'm very pleased with it. I got the brass pen, with a black fine nib. It's very heavy (which I like) -- by far the heaviest pen I own -- but the nib is very smooth and writes medium-wet, and I think this will be an EDC pen for a good while to come. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of patina the brass develops.

Anyone else get one? What kind, and with what nib?

Looks quite similar to a Namisu Nova. Does anyone have both and would you like to take a comparison picture? Do they also use Bock nibs?

They are quite similar, but the Ensso Piuma is, in a sense, even more minimal since the ends are smoothly rounded (rather than slightly squared off like the Nova), and the body is lengthwise symmetrical (unlike the Nova, where the body tapers a bit narrower than the cap end). You're right that they both have stock Bock nibs, though.

I have both, so I'll try to take a picture tomorrow when the light is better.

I like very light weight pens. I've tried brass, titanium, and copper pens , which have ended up in others hands. I have a tendency to grip them in a Malaysian death Grip and by the end of a 10-12 hour day charting I have hand cramps. I got a Black Aluminum with a Black fine nib. I have 2 Namisu's the Silver Aluminum RB and same in FP with an XF nib. The Ebonite Namisu with a Fine Nib hopefully will be here in the next month or so. All have nice smooth writhing Bock nibs. A bit wider that the thin Japanese nibs I prefer, but a perfect EDC Pen for me. I think you'll be happy with your new pen. Namisu had a discount going yesterday. Mass Drop has a Titanium Namisu at an incredibly low price for those interested. Usual disclaimers apply, no affiliation, just a satisfied owner of these pens.

I supported this Kickstarter too. I'm still waiting on my delivery. I also have the Namisu Nova and another Kickstarter pen. I've ordered all of them in titanium.

I have a matt black version with a medium nib and it's become one of my favorites.

(the quote is from a short story I'm working on. The ink is Diamine Red Dragon)

As requested. L-R: Namisu Nexus; Namisu Nova R*****ball; Namisu Nova, Ensso Piuma. Maybe it's time for me to stop buying minimalist metal pens off Kickstarter...

Just bought a Ensso aluminum black with a black medium nib (they are on sale for $49 now, for how much was the kickstart of it?).

Now I need to wait, they are backordered (November is the promised delivery).

Will work for pens...

I just pulled the trigger on a XS Minimalist Pocket Pen in brass with a black nib. $41 and some change seems like a fairly painless way to get my feet wet with this outfit, see how it goes.

The o-ring closure concerns me a bit, but I'll trust for now that they did their due QC testing; it'll likely be fine.

I wonder if a Kaweko clip will fit or can be made to fit?

I sure do like the look of that matte black Piuma though.

I may not have been much help, but I DID bump your thread up to the top.

November promised delivery I said. Now it’s April 3rd.

139 days waiting for it.

Saw your post in the 'what are you waiting for' thread. Gosh but it's a nice pen. I've thought that black pens were a little boring, but in my eyes the minimalist design sends this around boring and all the way back to cool. I can imagine the stress in waiting for it!

One more for the wishlist.
