Sterling Silver Fountain Pen

There are very fast drying inks. I'm sure someone will chime in with some, that lefties like.

Being a righty chasing shading inks...I want the ink to dry a tad slower.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

I was scrolling through the thread and came across your last post. I think you made a good choice. I have either owned or repaired all of the pens you listed except for the Pilot, and think that the Sheaffer will be the most reliable, and repairable should it need to be serviced. I found the Cross to be too skinny, and the Sonnet to be a disappointment. The plastic cap clutches wear out and the cap gets loose, requiring replacement of the inner cap IF the manufacturer has them. The OTOH Sheaffer uses metal pressure tabs on the section to hold the cap on. They're tough, and easily replaced down the road, IF it needs to be replaced. They still hold on pens that are 40 years old....

Thanks for that Ron, that's great to hear. Actually the pen has just arrived today and there seems to be a tiny bit of "play" in the lid. Is this normal? It certainly not going to fall off but it can be wiggled slightly. There is also a bit of a mark from a sticker that I am working at removing (with the skin of my fingers only, at this point). Oh, and it didn't come in a box. I really should have thought about that! Off to ebay to see if I can find one now...

I've got a plain black Sheaffer box you can have for free, if you want. I think it came with a Prelude, although it doesn't have a sticker on it. It has a black card sleeve. It looks very smart. Message me if you're interested and I can pop it in the post to you. An anniversary present, from the FPN community :-)
