I recently bought my first pen from Martemodena through one of their ebay auctions.

When the pen didn`t arrive after 10 days, I contacted them & got a very friendly quick reply - turned out that the pen`s cap had a misaligned clip & they were waiting for a new cap because they didn`t want to send a faulty pen.

As I`m about to leave the country for awhile I said that I`d rather prefer the refund which they`ve been offering to me as an alternative.

Almost as an afterthought I wrote that I would consider taking a pen with a different finish.

Quite unexpectedly, they offered two pens of which I chose one & it was very quickly delivered this week, a few days before I`ll leave.

I`m very pleased with the pen & the nice communication and would buy from them again any time

 

By the way, regarding the somewhat irritating high shipping cost:

If I can get a good deal on a pen, I certainly don`t care how much of what I paid was paid for shipping, handling etc.

Well it appears as though some of us are pleased with their service and business model, as well as that of DHL, and others not so.

 

I know i am not going to change anyone else's opinion and no one is going to change mine.

It's called 'Postage gouging' and the 4.5 star rating on martemodena's profile page shows how much some buyers don't like it. No way would I buy from this seller even if the total price looked good.

I bought three Federicos direct from MM at the time when I was getting them delivered to the UK by DHL in 4 days for $10. Now the postage costs are just prohibitive. Its a shame. I would buy more, but I'm not prepared to pay that much for shipping, no matter how good value the pen is. It just isn't right.
