I've just put yesterday's pen back in the case and selected my #3776 SF for today. It's loaded with Platinum Sepia (pigmented) so it can be used for everything - writing and drawing. Not so sure about the brown thought - it's a bit too light so I might try adding a few drops of black to the converter with a syringe.

Will work for pens...

Same one as when I answered this a couple of days ago, but it's a different desk, and now I'm using it!

I had a mistakenly bought Pluminix with a B nib which I left sitting in its packet, and popped out and bought a PFP50 (known as a 'Penmanship' in English speaking countries I think, but just the PFP50 or maybe 'Shuuji' over here) for ¥450 (~$4), and now I've exchanged the EF for the B and charged it up with Shin-Ryoku and I'm putting it through its paces. I'll grind the EF to an F/EF cursive italic and give it to my daughter.

They're not lying per se (they're in a cup). :D Right now I've got...

  • Pilot Metropolitan Animal Collection (White Tiger) F nib inked with Noodler's Black (to address envelopes and sign documents)
  • Sheaffer Javelin translucent brown M nib inked with a cyan ink that I can't for the life of me remember what it is and it's not listed in my "currently inked" notebook.
  • CIS Tinteiro Urbado, a dirt cheap Brazilian pen with an amazing nib in the Schmidt/Lamy style (made by Bock maybe?) inked with Sheaffer Skrip Red (the best red in the world)
  • Platinum Preppy 03 nib (purple) eye dropper converted with just a little of Pelikan 4001 Violet in it.
  • Platinum 3776 Century (Chartres Blue) B nib inked with Montblanc Irish Green (the greenest green evah!)
  • Lamy Studio Rubinblack M nib inked with Lamy Copper Orange (cartridge, my last one!)

The Lamy Studio and Platinum 3776 usually reside in my bag, but this week I'm letting them hang out with their friends and family.

Why do you have your pens nib pointing down?

Why do you have your pens nib pointing down?

No reason. I think it's because I'm left-handed and the cup is to the left of me, so I cap them with the right hand and put them in the cup with the left hand. (I put the cup in front of me to take the picture.)

Never had ink pooling into the cap — except for a 1960s Platinum that I bought recently, but I think there's a hairline crack on the section.

Hi all,

A new addition that arrived yesterday. :D

1923-25 Duofold Junior made of RHR w/ the large logo and Christmas tree feed. Beautiful condition; no one believed it when I said this pen is 90+ years old. :)

I'm giving vintage another spin.
