Fit For An Artfineliner Refill?

Hello!

Does anyone know of pen bodies that will hold the Artfineliner refill (other than the Artfineliner pen, that is)? The barrel is too wide for it to fit in just about any pen. I frankensteined a Noodler's Ahab with the business end of a Sharpie, and it totally worked. Just wondering if there are other options

K

I'm interested in this too. I have the M artfineliner and it is my favourite drawing pen so far, and I usually like Rotring drawing pens.

The refils are hard to find but really good EF tips. The M is fine but a bit fancy...

You can fit the artfineliner in the M rollerball and vice versa.

But I think the pint of the OP is that he wants to find lower cost pens that are compatable. I'm interested too.

As I draw a lot and used to buy the Copic fineliners, I thought it would be a good idea to have a beautiful, heavy EF artfineliner. The only possibility seems to be the Montblanc M series one. But it's not heavy, and it's not really beautiful.

So I ran the risk to buy a MB artfineliner refill (for 10€) and tried it with my rollerballs.

Here is my result: the refill fits perfectly the Graf von Faber-Castell rollerball (in my case the sterling version).

Perfectly in width, diameter of the tip.

But not in length.

The cap of the MB refill cant't be posted on the refill's back, it's too thick.

But you can post the cap of the Faber rollerball refill. Now the construction is a bit too long, but just cut it a bit, and now you can use the MB EF fineliner refill with your Faber.

MB artfineliner refill in the Graf von Faber-Castell rollerball. No jiggle.

Left the MB artfineliner refill with shortened posted Faber rollerball refill (red).
Right the original Faber rollerball refill with it's (grey) cap uncut.

Quite special, I know, but maybe this may help someone who likes EF fineliners.

Sorry to bother but on another note is the artfineliner refill too fine or is it great for daily note taking on a typical notepad? Thanks.

I'd like to do the opposite: put the ArtFineliner refil in more anonymous pen, for times when I don't want any attention. I love the refil, and the M is fine. But some people focus on the brand instead of what I am writing.

That's life: The appearance is more important than the statement. :(
