Parker 2018 Duofold Limited Edition

I'm sad because it's not going to be an italic nib eventually

As explained on Goldspot :

The fountain pen is fitted with an 18kt bi-color gold nib that has a compass design on its face. It will only be sold as a fine point, but Parker's service center would be able to provide extra-fine, medium and broad sizes.

For some months, I'm looking for a nice pen with stub/italic nib to write in my diary, write letters, songs, etc... and I'm looking at the Duofold Chevron and Aurora 88, but when I saw this one, I was just "Whaouw this is exactly what I want  "

Since I saw the first pictures of that beautiful pen with gorgeous italic nib, I spared money for 2018.

But with a fine nib, it's not so attractive.

Still a beautiful pen btw !

Not my cup of darjeeling as I am not a very flash person, but it is good to see that new ideas are coming out of Parker.

I have never really liked Parker pens, maybe thoughts of school days when younger. I have one Duofold that was given to me and now seeing this one. I like very much the presentation and modern look yet harking back to history.

This has made me look on the Parker site, reading up their history and their range.

Montblanc: 146 75th Anniversary, 147 Le Grande, Doue Solitaire

Parker: Gold Duofold Centennial, Sonnet Fougere

Visconti Bronze Homo-Sapien

Waterman Edson Sapphire Blue

Hi agentbug,

I think the pen looks fabulous but it does seem to divide opinion, maybe we expect a pen at this cost to be perfect? I'd love to read a review from someone who's used one (just in case my lottery ticket comes up this week).

"In my early days there were few schools to help us in the pursuit of learning.

If we wanted to climb, we had first to make our own ladders".

English weaver and self taught writer/publisher in Lancashire dialect.

Those photos are all CGI mockups. I tried the actual pen (which is sitting in my local shop, briefcase and all). It's a Duofold with a custom finish and a lapis stone on top. I'm afraid there isn't much else I can tell you beyond what's already been said on the website. The fine nib writes like any Duofold fine nib. Though I myself am not impressed, they've managed to sell 2 already.
