Online Pens

My son's friends brought my son an Online Air fountain pen back from Germany last summer. I have not seen much about this company on the interwebs. I have found the website: http://www.online-pen.de

I'm curious to read your thoughts on this brand. Are they good? Fair? Poor?

The website states that my son's pen takes standard cartridges, but when I bought some international standard cartridges, they did not fit. I am assuming there is a difference between standard and international standard.

Thanks in advance.

My online pens and I have had some disagreements. The are pretty and well made for the price, but they are finicky. Their cartridges are supposed to be an international standard, but I've found that you need an Online cartridge.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

I have 2 Online pens, so my experience is not exhaustive. I think they're good value for money, it's easy to change nibs and unlike Amber's and your experiences, I haven't had any isssues with international cartridges fitting properly. (I've used Diamine, Private Reserve and Pelikan Edestein "long" cartridges) Maybe that's a QC thing? I also have an Online CC which works fine, but haven't tried any "international" CCs.

My wife uses them for work. I don't like them. Most of them are scratchy, they tend to spill ink and feel cheap in your hand.

Wow! I must have been really lucky as my nibs are excellent for the price. I have a 2 Mediums and 3 stubs. I don't think I'll chance my luck again though.

I was surprised to see an ONLINE Vision fountain pen in the June issue of Pen World, which was delivered today. It is listed as one of the 13 pens shown on four pages, entitled, "HOT Days, COOL PENS." It just seemed odd to see it among some pretty exciting pens from ARTUS & AP LIMITED EDITIONS, although shown above it was a RETRO 51, Desk Set, (Rollerball.)

I have had the pen for a couple of years & enjoy it's 1.4 nib when trying new inks, but there are not many pens in this magazine that I can say the same about!
