Wow, 21,600 JPY = $194 USD for the #3776C Bordeaux Rose. That's crazy! A Bourgogne Red #3776C sells for $70-$75 USD, 168% less. See here:

So is the "Rose Gold" furniture solid-gold or something? Why the big price increase?

could be solid rose gold... does Nice's rose gold version rot? if not then it's alloy should be similar

The Chartres Blue one looks like it's using the Nice mold--the one they used with the Lilias. I like the look of it myself. As far as the furniture, I guess I will find out if it lasts, since I bought the Lilias. But I bought the Lilias from Dan Smith who threw in a custom nib grind, so even though I did pay a lot for the pen ($180?), I'm very happy with how it writes.

Rather than these two, I'm actually waiting for Platinum's next announcement due June 13 about their new series that follows after the five lakes of Mount Fuji.

Supposedly the first of the new series will hit the market in early July (according to their Facebook post).

PS: I wonder if anyone noticed that the company added a music nib 3776 with silver trimming to their lineup? Interestingly the silver version costs 5000 yen more than the older gold trim version...

the rhodium plating costs a bit more even on the original 3776 variants

It is not. the 3776 is marked up hysterically here in the US. Buy japan direct on amazon, only for these.

Ordering a 3776 soft fine in chartes blue next week. Soft fine nib, $75.

Selling a boatload of restored, fairly rare, vintage Japanese gold nib pens, click here to see (more added as I finish restoring them)

hey now I'm basing everything in the JPY conversion the rhodium versions of the 3776 are 5K yen higher than their standard versions which sell at 10K yen

basically like the Nice line up is like 20K yen... probably the rose gold has something to do with it and or the moulding

either way Nice no matter the furnishing costs 20K yen, this is almost consistent with the previous Platinum exclusive offerings the Nice wasnt their first rose gold furnished pen after all there was a limited shop exclusive using rose gold furnishing as well... Wagner pen group? or was it... Ir pen-rise

and the 21600 yen is basically with the 8% japanese-tax now if your importing I'm not sure if it's covered tax free though the pen still stands selling for 20K yen a piece
