Hi Iam sorry for late reply..

Currently in this group buy for model 8, the manufacturer is concentrating on ebonite only..

Maybe in future he might come up with demo model of the same..

Hi

Thanks for getting back to me, very much appreciated.

I'll give some thought to a black ebonite :)

Al

One question - are the Bock nibs generic Bock nibs (i.e. those used by Kara Kustoms) or rebranded Bock nibs?

Dear Sir,

It is Type 250 (#6 Size) Bock triple nib unit. It is generic and not rebranded.

Take care

So, please forgive my ignorance.

Are the Bock nibs stamped "Bock"- can we see a picture of samples, i.e. 2 Tone?

Thank you in advance.

Ok, I have been a good boy so far this year .........until today.

I'm in for a Bamboo, a Zeal and a Model 8 with a couple extra nib units.

I have asked for the model 8 to have flat ends instead of torpedo ends. Not sure if they will do that. Some model 8 pens on the first group buy were shown with flat ends. Are these pens Model 8 or Model 5? They were shown on the Model 8 Group buy page.

Also asked for the Zeal to have a solid black top finial instead of the clear acrylic. Not sure if that is possible.

Thank you Kadan for setting up this group buy.

That's great! Now the question is which ebonite to pick... sadly, the best colours are all out of stock :(

Bock have pictures on their website (though they don't sell directly to the public) - you can check these out at http://www.peter-bock.com/products/nib-systems.

@ Jamerelbe, thank you & yes & I have seen those with Bock name and logo. My inquiry really stems from the word "generic" by Dovucoe and M.P. To me that implies no "Brand" markings at all. I tend to see Bock as the maker using their name & logo as a Trademark "Brand" and other licensed users having their own names or logos imprinted on the nibs. Hope that clarifies why I asked.

No worries - I thought you might be asking whether the nibs had been custom branded, and answered on that basis. I'm not aware of "unbranded" Bock nibs, though they may well exist!

@OIga-F

interesting question, I have both a 4c and a bamboo (regular size) but did not think of comparing them.

I took a picture of them side by side and wanted to upload here, but since a while I am having problems uploading photos on FPN, I keep getting this upload failed errors despite I have reduced image size well below 1 Mb.

What I can tell you by looking at them is that the two pens are practically identical in length, same lenght capped, same length uncapped, even the caps are the same length.

The section of the bamboo is very slightly longer perhaps 2-3 mm.

The difference is in the width. The 4C tends to be fatter, because the barrel is slightly convessed. Viceversa the bamboo is narrower in the center of the bamboo sections. Similarly the section of the bamboo is concave (hourglass), the section of the 4c is very slightly convessed.

That makes a difference when you hold the pen.

I find the bamboo much more comfortable, the long section is very comfortable, my fingers are never on the threads. The second "bamboo shape section" of the barrel, in the part where it is narrower, rests at the base of my forefinger in a very natural position.

Despite being almost same size pens, they feel very different in the hand.
